Because ATEEZ's theme is a modern-take on pirates, a lot of the B-sides in their Treasure era had an island sound. Here's a vocal overview (l to r): Jongho - obviously known for his ability to belt high notes, but he can also sing well in many styles including blues, rock, and trot. (main vocal) San - has good range, lovely falsetto, and can add grit when he chooses. (lead vocal) Wooyoung (Changbin's bestie) - has a higher, lighter, childlike voice. Yeosang - has a textured voice and can go quite low as heard in songs like Halazia and Dune. Hongjoong - main rapper, but he often sings for their demos. He can go surprisingly high for a rapper and has sang for Jongho a few times when JH was absent (like on Kstar nextdoor). Yunho - has one of the widest ranges in the group and a beautiful clear tone. Mingi - main rapper, but loves to sing. The deepest voice in the group, but not by much. Seonghwa - also has a very wide range (his cover of Winner's Empty is a great example of this). His voice has a cry to it which lends itself well to emotional lines. He hit that high note in Utopia, yet when he raps sometimes he's mistaken for Mingi because of his low tone. The fact they have 7 members that can sing high and 5 that can sing low allows them to have a lot of variety in their music. Every member has opened a song, sung parts of a chorus, and sung on a bridge. I look forward to seeing your journey. (subbed).

Glad you noticed the other members too! Sadly in the guides and even in their own albums you can’t hear how impressive some of their vocals are. San for example (white shirt), I didn’t know he could belt high notes until I looked into some of their covers. This happens because most of the high notes are given to Jongho (for obvious reasons) but Seonghwa (last one in the line) , San, Yunho (tallest next to deep voice rapper) and even Hongjoong (rapper in the middle) have very impressive vocals as well. Wooyoung has a completely different singing technique then the rest of them (leather jacket) so it’s hard for me to compare his skills to them and his voice is very light (he is very talented too just a very different singing style then most idols). As for Yeosang (the guy that didn’t sing much) he doesn’t get many parts because his voice is very unique, it’s really round snd deep, so they almost always use him as like a cherry on top by giving him killing parts but if you look into his covers you can tell he is an amazing singer. Sorry for this long ass comment I take vocal lessons and I am very interested in vocal techniques and styles and these guys are all amazing so I just have to talk about it. Hopefully you got at least some helpful information from this lol

This reaction was great! I am a Kingdom-era Atiny, so it is interesting to see a perspective of someone that did not follow them from that point forward. Yes, they are very multifaceted and each member is extremely talented. Depending on what they are doing, different members tend to stand out. I am excited to see your deep dive! The all-rounder on the far right is my bias Seonghwa. He looks so sweet here, but on stage he is part of the Demon Line (along with Hongjoong and San). They are all super exciting to watch live and have only gotten better since Kingdom.

Thanks for the reaction and I'm excited to hear about the upcoming deep dive! The members from right to left: Jongho, San, Wooyoung, Yeosang, Hongjoong, Yunho, Mingi, and Seonghwa. Some basic info on each member: Jongho, main vocalist and maknae(2000). San, lead vocalist and main dancer(1999). Wooyoung, vocalist and main dancer(1999). Yeosang, vocalist and dancer(1999). Hongjoong, captain/leader (they have a pirate concept), main rapper, and producer(1998). Yunho, vocalist and main dancer(1999). Mingi, main rapper and main dancer(1999). Seonghwa, vocalist and dancer(1998). (yes, they have 4 main dancers, but they could all claim that title honestly) Mingi, the deep voiced rapper, was on hiatus due to anxiety during Kingdom which is why you don't recognize him. He was on hiatus for about 9 months and came back mid-2021. I'm impressed you recognized Wave considering it was changed so much for their intro song on Kingdom! Answer was the one with La Poem and Ode to Joy, like you said. And you also caught The Real at the end. They're amazing singers and performers, which is why they get invited to festivals like Coachella and Mawazine. This was a great introduction to their discography. Since I'm new to your channel, I wasn't sure about your procedure for a deep dive, but it looks like you're starting by going through the albums from the beginning, so I'll be tuning in for that! I am wondering if/when a guide would be included and I'd like to recommend the 2024 version by bunhongjoong if you choose to do one. They just celebrated their 6th debut anniversary(Oct 24, 2018) and they have a comeback scheduled for November 15th, so this is pretty good timing for getting into them and becoming an Atiny!

Also…I love it when I recognize the pure authenticity in a reactor! It’s clear that you really hear and feel the music and the fact that you recognized their song from kingdom just solidified that! And yeah…their diversity in their songs is crazy! Say My Name will always be my favorite song! Not sure why since I love every one of their songs but it always just hits different no matter how many times I hear it! You should definitely watch the mv. Another song that wasn’t included in here that is a MUST listen (gotta watch mv to get the full effect) is Halazia! The sounds in this song are mindblowing! And for Geurilla…the shouts of Atiny (fan name of Ateez=Ateez + Destiny) in the crowd is insane and can be heard and felt outside any stadium! Their concerts are an experience like nothing else! The one singing the high notes in Utopia (the one all the way on the right) is Seonghwa and he’s my bias lol. His range is insane!!! And yes!!! They deserved this singing voice! 😊 This was so great to watch! Thank you again! 🥰

Much like with Dreamcatcher, the variety of genres in Ateez's discography is staggering - the Killing Voice does a good job of displaying that and largely only uses title tracks, so there's still quite a few b-sides (and other title tracks) that have very different vibes. You're in for a treat.

Ateez is different. They are not typical kpop. They have Depeche Mode, Erasure (1980s Wave Era) sound, 1990s Boyz to Men and Motown , then they are young so even if they have THE Motown Vocals (listen to Mist, Lights, Wake up, Dune, This world…) they still have that catchy TikTok boom boom music. Their tittle tracks showcase and enhances their performances on stage, hence its catchy aggressive music. BUT THE REAL ATEEZ IS IN THEIR Bsides! Their Bsides are the waaaay better than their tittle tracks lol.i can’t wait for you to listen to their bsides: cyberpunk, mist, the entire outlaw album and you will just faint and never wake up haha! It’s thaaaaaat good! Thanks us later!

As you start to dive the magic is in their B sides. I suggest you listen to Mist. Ateez never makes the same song twice. They explore different genres but do have a sound that makes it Ateez. Their Coachella set is also worth watching and all the songs are done with a live band.
