craziest thing about jongho (stage right guy) is that he never originally intended to be a singer. he was much more into sports as a kid and entered a singing competition ON A WHIM! ended up placing 1st and competed in a much bigger one in seoul afterwards where he placed 2nd overall. blows my mind how we're blessed to hear his vocals just because he thought "why not" one day.

You hit the nail on the head when you said they perform like demons. The way their personalities and facial expressions change when they get on stage is like they are possessed, and they throw their bodies into dance like they don’t care if they are destroyed in the process. This makes their live performances INCREDIBLE. You were also correct that they are dorks offstage. Just for an example, about a month ago Seonghwa (guy on the far right. Stage left? With longish hair and great falsetto) was happily doing a livestream where he was ASMR building a Star Wars LEGO set. Which would be adorkable all by itself, but then San came in and ATE one of the LEGOS! I believe it was the light saber. Needless to say, Seonghwa was outraged and it hilariously ruined the whole vibe of the ASMR. Please react to a guide. The 2024 one is the most up to date and very good, but I love the Complete guide to Ateez 2023 because the narrator is so extra and preferred to show clips of all the boys being extra as well. (As opposed to more serious stories about each of them)

Your reaction is so cute lol. I love that you mentioned production because that was one of the first things that stood out to me. Their music is perfection. The first song I ever heard from them was Answer…then I watched an interview with them and I fell in love with their personalities and how they are so humble. Literally every👏🏻single👏🏻song👏🏻 from them is amazing and I promise you, you will not want to skip any. I grew up loving different music genres and playing multiple instruments, but when I heard Ateez I knew they were my type of music!…literally everything I had been searching for and they bring me so much happiness 😅. omg this is so funny, killing voice was also the nail in the coffin of me stanning ateez after seeing them all over my tiktok fyp AND i couldn't take my eyes off of mingi (i still can't and i've seen it countless times lol) welcome to tinytown! there are so many wonderful things ahead of you! like others said i would recommend starting from the 2024 guide and listen to their albums chronologically:) also idk if you're into variety content but just in case my personal favourites: their wanteez eps (some very iconic moments there that you will see quoted everywhere), stressor things (a bit older but suuper funny), salary lupin (sadly without mingi) and a ton of other stuff but i fear i already overwhelmed you with all the recommendations😀

You're in for a ride... for the full info someone already recommended a guide, so just some answers for your questions from the vid: 1) The platinum blond one is THE Song Mingi... you can't even imagine the amount of trouble he can bring:/ in my 4 years in the fandom haven't seen anyone who wasn't bias wrecked by him🙃 the main rapper, main dancer and producer. Writes all his verses, has solo stuff and occasionally writes songs for the group. His fancams are just pure gold - the presence, energy, adlibs, raw passion ughhhhhh. In real life doesn't hesitate to make a fool of himself to make others laugh, vibes with everyone and has a nickname "princess" (given by Yunho, but i will NOT elaborate about these two, my heart will burst, guide will be helpful enough. Btw Yunho is the tall puppy-like one beside Mingi) 2) Contrary to Mingi, Hongjoong has a high-pitched rap and their dynamic is SO GOOD. He is the captain, main rapper and producer. Also sings very well and often records guide versions for the group songs. Is very passionate about what he does, his fancams are also a must-watch. 3) The far stage right is the maknae and main vocalist - Jongho. To really get to know each members' vocals I belive their solo covers are a must. Especially recent ones, in the last few years they really found their individual styles. 4) Guerrilla was the turning point for me. The moment it was released in 2022 Ateez became my all-time ults. Live version hits even harder, if it is even possible. 5) Fandom name is Atiny (pronounced "At-ee-ny" as it is the combination of Ateez and Destiny) 6) Overall all 8 of them are super passionate about their craft and fought for their dreams from the very bottom of the industry to where they are now. As you can probably imagine I can write thesis about them, but I'll stop here and let you experience the greatest joy of getting to know Ateez from scratch❤

OMG this video just came out, ok, let me talk a bit about Ateez. Yes, Ateez is a 8 member boy group from KQ entertainment, at the moment was the only group in the company, now they have their little brother “Xikers” as well. Ateez debuted with Double tittle songs ( they do that a lot) , With Pirate King and Treasure ( both in the Killing Voice). The agency was struggling financially when they debuted, it was already a small company, but the CEO really believed in them ( they call him dad, they are really close with the CEO and staff cause of the small team they had) The MVs of their debut songs was filmed in Marocco but they used free locations to save money ( in treasure theres one scene that a tourist is behind them haha) Yes they are Pirates,but the lore is bigger than that, in resume there’s 2 worlds, world A and World Z, WA is our world, WZ is in a dystopian future where the government is forcing a dictatorship and forcing every type of emotion or individualism to stop ( No music, no art, no love, etc) In the WZ ateez is called black pirates or Hallateez, a group of rebels who’s fighting the government, there’s time travel, dimension, and a lot of lore from it. Now about the members, I will talk in the order of the Killing voice to Help you: Choi Jongho: The main vocal and Maknae, 00’ ( yes, the one with the amazing high notes), he’s an amazing singer, the first time he entered a singing contest he gained 1st place, and he did it just for fun, before he started his training. He was a trainee since he was 14, he trained so hard in other agencies and was about to give up when he met KQ staff. FYI: KQ didn’t had money but the CEO used his own pocket money to send Ateez to the US for training, and Jongho trained his vocals a lot, as well as the dance (at this point he was already a good dancer tho) Jongho is the most mature of them all, can be seen as cold but he’s just an introvert, he hates Skinship and can be a menace once you get to know him. He’s the most calm in the chaos that it is his group Choi San: born in Namhae in 99’ San is a Singer, Main Dancer and 1/3 member of the demon line ( YES THERES A DEMON LINE!!) out of the stage he’s the softest of them all, very clingy and just a baby, once he steps on the stage he’s changes 100% and can show amazing vocals, Dancing skills and a lot of facial expressions, no matter if it is a slow song or a banger, he always delivers. Jung Wooyoung: the fake Maknae, born in 99, he is a Singer and Dancer in Ateez, he was a BigHit trainee before joined KQ, and was the last member of Ateez. He’s an ultra Extrovert, he makes friends the easiest ( BFF with Changbin of SKZ and Yeonjun from TXT ) he’s LOUD, speak a lot, and it’s the “hardest child to raise” ( quoted by Hongjoong) , he’s really funny and has the best laugh in the industry! He is a menace but it’s that kid that you can’t be mad with. LOVES Skinship and is often seen with San, they are really good friend and have a friendship Tattoo in Latin Saying “Friends until the end”. He’s also really close to Yeosang! They trained together in Bighit. Kang Yeosang: also 99 line, he’s that deep voice in the Ateez songs, he’s also an amazing dancer and performer. He’s has an Ethereal look making him the Visual of Ateez. He’s soft hearted, calm and a little weird sometimes. Half of the time he’s distracted and doesn’t have any idea what’s going on. He’s very smart tho! He’s so lovely, it’s impossible not to fall in love with him! Kim Hongjoong: 98’ line, THE CAPTAIN ( in Ateez the leader is called captain, in the early days if a member called him leader he had to pay up) , Rapper, Sub Vocalist, Producer, Lyricist, And another Member of the Demon Line! He’s an ACE, he can do everything, he’s very artistic, loves to reform clothes, loves fashion, is called the Balmain Prince by the Founder of the brand after becoming the ambassador of the brand. Amazing dancer with A LOT of facial expressions! When he’s at the stage his eyes change so much! The Father of the group, keep the kids in check ( a very hard job btw) , has been involved in the making of the songs since the beginning. First trainee of KQ, send a CD With some songs he produced, was looking to a job in production, but the CEO wanted him to be an Idol, so he became the first member of Ateez. I have a lot to talk about him cause he’s my bias, but this is too long already. Jeong Yunho: 99’ liner, Singer, Main Dancer, Dance Leader of Ateez. Learns the choreography in a few minutes and teaches the other boys, is an AMAZING dancer despite his height ( tallest member). He’s a golden retriever, happy virus, always making people smile! Lovely boy, Boyfriend material. Song Mingi: 99’ YES THE BLEACHED HAIR GUY! Mingi is a Rapper, sub Vocalist, dancer, Producer and Lyricist of Ateez. Rasp voice, AMAZING stage presence, captivating, have the tendency to flirt with the camera onstage. ( I have seen live, he really flirts a lot) Mingi met Yunho when they were in high school, they’ve been best friends since then, yunhoy both auditioned to KQ Without the other knowing. Him and Yunho are the Tallests of the group. Looks intimidating outside but is really soft, needy, has a nickname Pink Princess ( and loves it) Park Seonghwa: 98’ Oldest, Singer, Performer, sub rapper, and the final member of the demon line. Seonghwa is the Mother of the Group, always taking care of the youngest, is really sweet by nature, he’s often noticed because of his features and long hair. Amazing Performer! Opposite in and off stage persona. Auditioned for KQ as a Rapper but debuted as a singer, nowadays has a some opportunities to show his rap. Welcome aboard! For live stages I would really recommend the fancam of full Coachella video to get an overview of how they perform- they really are monsters on stage. Also they upload dance practices to all of their title tracks. 38:32 Fever and Empty Box are one of their B-Sides, they have a very extensive discography spanning variety of genres so I know getting through it will take a lot of time. One of my personal favorite B-Sides are Horizon, To The Beat and their synthpop holy trinity: Cyberpunk, Silver Light and Selfish Waltz.

I know you said they have connections to other groups and I'm not sure if you mentioned it, but they share producers with Dreamcatcher in LEEZ and Ollounder. DC are my ults and I also denied myself ATEEZ for too long. Got into them in the last year and fell fast. You got your prediction of their personality on and off stage on point xD ATEEZ has a HUGE versatility in all the aspects (performance, production, lore,dancing, vocals and songs wise) they are few of the groups that I’ve seen that truly loves their craft so much to the point of not caring about trends or focusing in making easy choreos for tiktok virality! They go ALL OUT always, and heavy in performance! I recommend you - The Ultimate Guide to ATEEZ (2024) is 1 hr long but is great introduction - MMA (Melon Music Awards) 2024 performance - Guerrilla KBS Song Festival and the 1THEKILLPO performance one - Their unit songs, which all of them have a MV: MATZ (by Hongjoong and Seonghwa, and in this one was the first time Seonghwa raped properly and not just couple of seconds) It’s You (San, Wooyoung, Yeosang) Youth ( Yunho, Mingi) Everything (Jongho) There’s so much content of them in their ATEEZ channel that will help you to know them better like: logbooks, behind scenes, covers, solos, reality show, interviews,etc.

JongHo. Our maknae. Our golden vocal is the stage right you’re obsessed with. He has been training in belting for a while. In the same manner as Michael Jackson. He has taken lessons from the daughter of the man who taught Michael. JongHo is our pride and joy. He also had the same teacher as Baekhyun of EXO and was spoken of directly by that teacher publicly as a pupil he is quite proud of. Thank you for appreciation of our lovely YeoSang. His voice is truly special. I highly suggest checking out his cover and the unit song IT’s You by YeoSang, San & Wooyoung. ATEEZ never fail to bring out the emotions of their listeners. Which fits well with their lore. Where they are trying to awaken the emotions of people who have had their emotions suppressed. The story line is quite amazing.

Loved this reaction and I'm really excited for your deep dive into Ateez. The starting point is definitely the 2024 guide so you can get to know the boys better before the real dive. I feel like knowing Ateez's background as a whole, both as a group and as individuals, definitely adds some depth to the journey. Can't wait for your reactions to the live stages because they are known as monster performers, but also as incredible vocalist with great vocal control even during the most exhausting performance. That being said you will definitely fall in love with most of their b-sides, there are some hidden gems that are title track material (to be honest a lot of the b-sides feel more "title track worthy" than the title tracks themselves, that says something). Live stages and dance practices are a must. Ateez’s choreo is a group where you need to take in the full stage to truly appreciate their storytelling. And every single live performance of Halazia (not performed on Killing Voice) is a must. Actually all of their gayo and award show performances because they never just perform the song the way they did during promotions.

If you want a true treat involving ATEEZ- look up Kingdom Mayfly. BTOB, Stray Kids, and Ateez were teamed up (Mingi & Hyunjin were respectively on hiatus). Mayfly rap: Ateez- Hong Joong, Stray Kids- Changbin, Han, Bang Chan, and BTOB- Minhyuk; Mayfly dance: Ateez- San, Seongwha, Woo Young, Yunho, and Yeosang, Stray Kids- Felix, IN, Lee Know, and BTOB- Peniel (who is one of their main rappers); Mayfly vocal- Ateez- Jongho, Stray Kids- Seungmin, and BTOB- Eunkwang (Changsub, one of BTOB's main vocalists was sick so couldn't participate). There are many B sides and few Title Tracks which really showcase their vocal colours by singing the same part same lyrics yet the vocal color reflects and U can immediately recognize that which memeber is singing once you recognize their voices And All the 6 vocalists have something niche and outstanding thing in their vocals that I can't just pick a fav San has falsetto and also Raspy voice yet he can also belt and sing in his chest voice Jongho is just ace and mostly in Ateez songs we see him belting yet he showcase literally every vocal skill from time to time , And he works hard that noone can deny how good of a singer he is Seonghwa and Yeosang for me are very Chameleon type I always get surprised by them the most they literally do different styles and each is so good and fitting for their vocal tone idk why Yeonsang especially in recent years been showcasing his skills Wooyoung has high pitch voice yet his tone and way he annunciate is very speciali .. His soft tone is also so pretty and he can go high notes easily as well like All the other members Yunho is just another all rounder with an insane vocal range and recently he has been wrecking people alot with his parts in songs and not by his looks As for the rappers you already got the gist how good their contrast sound like

Just gonna mention a fun fact, Ateez is actually produced by most of the same producers as Dreamcatcher. Ateez and Dreamcatcher are in different company's, but Edenary, their music production crew, is mostly shared between the two. Atiny like to call Dreamcatcher Ateez' older cousins because of this. Obviously, they have very different signature sounds, but I still feel like they are similar enough to say if you love Dreamcatcher, you will love Ateez.

Spot on with them being demons - Ateez is famous for having a demon line! I'm really excited for your journey, and I always recommend going chronologically from the debut - this way you can really watch their growth and appreciate how the album series are composed thematically with intros and outros and whole vibe... Since you mentioned enjoying B sides, you won't be dissapointed - some of my favourite Ateez songs are exactly that. Lots of hidden gems that are title track worthy! They are a performance heavy group, and lots of the choreo is missed in the mvs so watching their dance practises and relay dances is always a treat. When they cover a song, they tend to add their own flavour - they had a lot of those in 2021 so once you get there it is a nice bonus. The most recommended guides for Ateez are the 1 hour long ones and I know it might seem like an overkill, but this group has a lot to them, one might say it was destiny bringing them all together so it is really worth to get the full story. Overall you are for sure not going to regret going on this journey, all the off-on stange dynamics, different genres to choose from and incredible performances wait for you to discover them : ) Set sail!
