His excuse is that he's in his third year, officially his second full year in the league. And he would have been in the SB in his first start had his arm not gotten destroyed. I think he showed that by breaking the Eagles last year....they were never the same after that game. And where was that "supporting cast" in the SB last year? Fumbles from CMC, missed assignments in the OLine that almost got Brock killed, a DC that was so bad that he's not even in the league anymore, a HC that didn't know the OT rules, fumbled punt returns, and a LB who blew out his achilles just stepping onto the field. There's only so much a man can do. If you think Mahomes or Brady would have won despite that shit, then you're smoking the strong stuff.
