​@@mrbemystarthe equipment shown in the video I found was good enough to beat the 2 easier super bosses (with good items) but for the other two I had to give ayesha's gear some different properties. This video is still really useful because it helped me start to understand how to actually use the alchemy so I was able to transfer those other properties on Ayesha's stuff myself

dumb question: why is the melt steel important, u can make the blade whetstone from the steel yarn, so why the steel yarn -> melt steel step?

@@squish200 Make a good whetstone / dye with the traits you want on it and make sure it has the Property Copy (?) effect on it. I'm not sure which trait or effects you want though.

CursedFein chaoszieg I'm new to the atelier series and I feel so lost- I've been playing for 8 hrs and still have _no_ idea what I'm doing. I'm having trouble finding a guide online that could just help me out with the mechanics of the game (took me forever to realize back attacks cause critical damage). I'm looking for a walkthrough or a primer that could hold my hand for a bit to get me started. Are more in-game tutorials coming re:the battle system or synthesis? Have I missed optional tutorials? You guys seem like you know what you're doing, can you point me somewhere?

CursedFein Just tanked the annual competition where I get to submit an item. I'm moving along, I have a basic understand the alchemy system now. Finally learned I could hit select to reveal what properties actually do. I'm like deep into year 3, also... do the calender dates matter??

CursedFein ah god damn it. Thank you so much for laying this out... Nio still seems to be pretty far away. I saw her in the salt desert a minute ago when I forced the flower to bloom. I just added Juris to my party and I've been wasting a bunch of time wandering around doing Homonculus Village quests. I had no idea the days mattered at all. The game is just so relaxed, there's no urgency to _anything_ (which is something I enjoy quite a bit). I'm just gonna push on through and enjoy the ride. @@squish200 man, I don't remember a lick of Atelier Ayesha's system. Each game following Ayesha tended to dramatically improve the alchemy system. So, if you started with a game that's later in the series, and you are checking out Ayesha from that perspective, it's going to be hard. The alchemy system is byzantine and counter intuitive. It also basically assumes you've played the other games, and gives you a barebones tutorial. Winning the alchemy contest is like a central goal of the game, you need to be getting first place in all those IRIC. I think I watched one guide, and once I won one contest, I didn't need any further help w/the alchemy system. Once it clicks, or once it's explained to you, you will be dunking on the alchemy contest items. So, give yourself a break, try to use a guide if you can. There are two guides still up on gamefaqs you can try. On top of a byzantine alchemy system, the game's translation and localization sucks. I distinctly remember that "String" is mistranslated as "Sting" throughout. There are other typos which make the game more confusing. The game has a time limit for you to find Nio. Even beyond that goal, though, there is an "extra good" final ending. IIRC you basically need to be playing on NG+ to get the extra good ending. I also can't read any of the other comments in this thread. it's weird. I can only see my own comments. Are there other comments which are visible to you? The short version is that, particularly if you are not using a guide which instructs you on what to do each day, it's impossible to finish or get the good ending on your first try IMO. I think I beat the game three times. The second time I was just on the edge of the good ending but couldn't pull it off. Don't stop yourself from save SCUMMING or liberally using save slots to your advantage.

lol it really nice! but i tried play the dlc dungeon.... ultimate gears is not enough... those mobs hurt me alot... :( and i just tried vs a boss in the dlc... i die in few mins.... to me ultimate gears is not enough! now we need ultimate healing items and attack items!!!
