The idea that merging the lines with the colors to create clean masks really stuck with me. Also you can duplicate the line layer beforehand and just use one of the line layers to create a mask and use the other one as a guide for more complex areas of the painting

Nice painting (◕‿◕) Mask are really useful for sharp edges. Personnaly I'm trying a little different approach those days. I'm trying to use my brushes transparency to paint as we would do in traditional watercolor, and make the line disappear "layer after layer"...it's interesting :)

Dricon1997 it's not possible for the tool to retain the original quality. however, you can work around this by having a larger canvas size and only making important edits.
