Yeah, I think it’s fine and a huge improvement over the Arcade1up. Are there better options of available? Sure, but this works for me. I can’t deal with the size, cost and maintenance of real tables.

Great review! I have real pins and the AtGames HD pin. When the HD had lag when it came out then I moved to one of my real pins I was hitting the flippers way to soon. I want to get the 4K but I am holding off till they get the bugs worked out. By the time I mod my HD pin for 4K, I would be in it for more than what this pin cost. Zen on PC has no lag if you have a good gaming PC. I think the lag could have been avoided with beefier hardware.

Hey, thanks! I don’t have a real good gaming PC right now. They have come out with a few updates and the tables are playing better, even Addams family. I’m actually playing Addams family with the visual extras on now and it’s not bad. Not perfect, but not bad.

Thanks! I’m really having fun with this machine. The next generation, Star Trek table and the twilight zone table play great. I guess there’s just something weird with the Addams family table.

Hey, thanks for watching. I think this is gonna be all about expectations. I was looking to improve my arcade one up attack from Mars and this certainly did that. It’s not perfect yet, but if they keep working on it, like promised, they should be great. If all else fails, I’ll just talk it up to my PC down the road. But I’m happy with it.

They didnt even give you the proper chrome legs and lockdown bar. The black doesnt look right because the real machine didnt use black, they used chrome.

I appreciate the video. When you mentioned having all the visual extras (ball trail, animations) off, please advise how to do that. I've searched all through settings and haven't found that option. Thanks!

So when you get into the game, hit the button with the green swirly logo on it then go down to settings and you’ll see floating scores, ball trails, and visual extras. I turned all that off.

Thanks for the review! You rock! Man... why do ALP's have so much flipper lag?! I have the original table and wanted to upgrade, but I think I'll keep working on my own build. Once I switched to my homegrown build, all my flipper lag went away.

Setup mine last Friday.. the trick I did getting out of box was opening top, lift box up to stand, cut tape off bottom and unflapped cardboard, then very carefully say back down hold unit inside. The just lifted box off. Then stood back up to put legs on. Lag wise, garbage until I turned off both trails and number popups. I kept animations on. Playable after. The ball does to a lag stutter rolling down sometimes, very annoying. Haven't bought Adam's or Star trek, waiting to get better

I feel your pain on building this thing by yourself. I’m probably gonna hold off on Star Trek until other people. Let us know how that one plays. The first three Star Trek tables aren’t looking so playable yet.

I have said this all over the forums on fb. I don't think it's the graphics, I think the api is not prioritized over the physics. If you play it you will see the lag gets worse when physics are calculating. If I had to guess, I would say that whenever Zen laid off half of their staff writers I started recording these things, they laid off a couple of key people who know how to get the latency down on different hardware. I'm going to guess that they don't know how to prioritize what is going on with the API request right now, and they don't have anybody smart enough to code it. They most likely go to port, I thought they were done, and just kept on people who were able to run, or build automation that can continue to keep porting the assets. If you play Addams Family you will notice the lag gets insanly unpredictable during Seance Mode when the physics are being worked the hardest. To the point it's honestly unplayable for someone who has the lag timed. Hopefully they get it straight because they announced yesterday, 45 more game packs which means this should get the bulk of what Zen has to offer natively on Pinball FX Aside from expired licenses.

I wanted the attack from Mars Pitbull Machine but Had already pre-ordered the Addams Family so I have the Adams Family pinball machine now I would like to play the attack for Mars on it Which I think is so unfair That you can play Adam's family but I can't play attack from Mars So I'm a little jealous of that right now😂😂😂😂😂 great video I'm happy to see you posting the pinball machine so I can see how it looks and it looks amazing 👏🏽 👏🏽👏🏽

Hey, that’s a great point. I can play the game that you have on your machine, but you can’t play mine. I think they’re afraid to post attack from Mars on the website to purchase until they figure out the lag. It’s definitely coming your way soon. Thanks for checking out the video! I want a Virtual pinball machine so bad....but running at ONLY 60 Hz and the input lag just kills it for me...Please give us an option for ATLEAST 120Hz and no more than 2ms input delay(preferabbly 1ms).

The megahertz was a concern of mine. But I don’t think I’m bothered to by that. The flipper lag has been improved. Honestly, if they can do one more slight adjustment I think they fixed it. I’m not too upset about it because I think I’m gonna go OTG on this thing eventually. I’m playing this a lot and I don’t have buyers remorse.

The black "dots" on the side artwork are not defects.They are on the original pin from 1995.They are not on the A1up.

I don't much like Pinball but doesn't the real flippers let you partically push them. It didn't look like these virtual ones don't let you do that. The virtual ones are either 0 or 1.

Lol, I hear ya. Apparently, Zen Studios did not design these games specifically for this machine, hence the problem. They claim they’re going back to the drawing board in an effort to improve them. Time will tell.

As much as I love Zen Studios for their achievements in virtual pinball, as much I don't trust them any more because they haven't fixed years of bugs in FX3 and now there are the same and new bugs going unfixed for months now. There's not much communication going on about them, therefore I'll buy their tables only when heavily discounted.

So I got the new Star Trek the next generation table. I absolutely love it. I think it’s the best playing Zen Studios release date. If there is any lag, it’s not bothering me. I highly recommend it.

So the SSF kit, not SFX kit Iile I incorrectly said in my video, sounds truly amazing (like a real ball) on the Zaccaria games. But it’s not very noticeable on the Zen Studio games sadly.

Thanks Digital Victory! it might be just me, but the latest update might’ve improved the lag a little bit. And you’re right, after a few plays, you do get used to the timing. I’m probably gonna do another update video where I’m a little more positive on the machine. Twilight Zone is excellent, imo.

I bought a Star Trek. The lag on those Zen tables make them unplayable for me. And the other included tables are hideous. I stopped playing the machine entirely. I just ordered a new PC and am going to get that setup to play OTG.

It’s getting better and it’s so close to being good. You really notice a little lag when you go from the Zaccaria and Gottlieb tables (which play perfect) to the Zen tables. Otherwise you do get used to it how the zen tables play. I think if they could just give it one more tweak, they’d be done. Still, the table that needs the biggest tweak is Adams family.

Been ignoring the Zen tables because the flipper lag is so bad. Adamms Family and Snoopy are unplayable. The Magic Pixel tables run flawlessly. Zen needs to fix this asap.

I got #16. The game will be available for all machine may 6th I think. Somewhere around that date. I also have Addams family. Both side by side. I think Addams family is a little more laggy. I think they're gonna have a law suit on their hands if they don't fix this soon. Theyre continuing to sell broken software.. It's been almost 7 months now. When they revield the machine during that classic gaming expo last oct. Not much changed.

It’s weird, because when I test the flipper Addams family seems to be better than maybe I represented. But there is something going on with that machine. Both are close. Yeah they probably should’ve tweaked things before the rollout. They keep promising their work on it, so fingers crossed. I want to buy that Star Trek next month, but I am thinking about holding off until I watch some reviews.

I think the pc board they designed was just not powerful enough. They try to cut absolutely every corner to make this as profitable as possible. My suggestion is get a pc, get 4k virtual pins if possible. I wish they would make an unbranded, zero license pinball. Pass the savings down, let us provide our own software and use their pin as the peripheral, especially with 4k monitor. Not sure why they don’t. It would be the best deal hardware wise. Other virtual pins r at least 5k if decent.

I’ll eventually hook this up to a PC. I will say I downloaded Star Trek the next generation and it plays pretty well, although it looks like they decreased the resolution a bit on the table.

I just spent $1,300 on a decorative, non-working pinball machine. Received my Attack from Mars 4K pinball. Couldn't even play it due to the server issues that were down for almost a week. Once I got it up and running, they mapped the solenoids to where they aren't the same button on each side. Then you have the flipper lag. On top of that, three pixels just went out on my play screen. Put in a ticket and they proceed to give me a link to a KZbin video with 39 views explaining how to change out the buttons? Absolutely horrible. Stay far, far away from these machines until AtGames can prove they can put out a quality product.
