I think they both may have realized they needed to hear the truth and turn away from bad things in their lives. Young people today a lot of times, seem to not have any direction, just give in , and think nobody loves then anyway, or they are going to hell, anyway, so they don’t care, and anything goes. They say such evil things, laugh with glee at horrible things, so called songs, movies, super bowl half times, drive like no one else’s life matters, or theirs, shoot each other, and kill each other at 13 yrs. old and up, with stolen guns, and dont have a conscience about anything. They need love, and this man tells them they are loved, and forgiven, and can start over again. Where are all of their absent mothers and fathers? Thank you for what you do. Mike I’m a bit frustrated with the visible church as well. However the easiest way to try to win a war is to infiltrate the enemy’s ranks. So it makes sense to me that the devil would try to put his people in churches to break and discourage them or others to attend them. From a funny perspective, I’ve seen the craziest people and things at Walmart. But, it’s not stopped me from going :-). After thinking about it I realized that the reason I’ve turned to Christ is because I’m so screwed up myself. What do you find in a hospital? A bunch of people who know that they are sick and a few doctors and nurses. That was my plight. I realized that there is nothing that I can do to overcome either the price or the practice of my own sin. I need a savior, and Jesus paid it all!

Religion is man-made. Hubby and I broke off from the church a long time ago. Even non-denominational churches follow man-made rules and run too much like a business. We were blessed to be at the right place at the right time (sign from God) to meet a retired Pastor who was holding bible study at his house. He opened our eyes to how religion came to be. While he and his wife eventually moved away to be closer to their daughter, our group continued on to this day. You don't have to go to church for God, it's mainly for community. I have no doubt that wherever you live, somewhere there's a group of like-minded people meeting to just learn and worship the Lord straight out of the Bible. Pray on it with an open mind and know that God is everwhere, not just in a building.

almost 3 years ago, at almost 22 years old i almost took my own life. I was abused as a kid, broken, depressed, anorexic, bulimic, suicidal. I went in & out of psych units like it was a game of Chess. Suicide watch. I was on enough Antidepressants to kill a horse. I hated myself. I wanted out. I wanted the pain to stop. The gaslighting* to end. *(when a psycho makes a sane person question their own sanity, and thus think they themselves are the insane one). I wanted power. I got into witchcraft. I thought it would give me the identity i wanted, to be set apart from people who hurt me. It only made me sicker. Sicker. Thats what it did to me. The doctors said i’dnever get well. That i would suffer severe Chronic Manic depression, and never be well, that id be stuck on antidepressants all of my life. I would plot suicide on a daily basis, binging and purging my food as often as opening and closing a door. The pain was too real. People choked me. Assaulted me. Told me i was ugly, i felt worthless. Nothing ever got better. Then my mother died. The (1) & only soul who ever loved /emotionally supported me was removed from the earth. I was stuck living with people who broke me, ruined my identity, thus causing me to hate God. I thought God hated me, that he was just like the ones who tortured me, a family of abusers, who cover up all their actions with the mask of religion. I didnt know that God is on my side. I didnt know that Jesus would Love and Defend me, and fight for me and that He later would heal me, rescue me from Family. The ones who caused me pain. The ones who choked me for wearing a necklace. I moved out after family threatened to throw all my belongings on the front yard, and have me permanently institutionalized in an insane asylum, when they were the ones who caused my mental illness via abuse. They blamed me for the abuse they did to me. To take my life in an insane asylum when they were the ones who made me suicidal. Next morning i spoke with my dead moms parents who let me live with them. I stayed on the antidepressants, prescribed. But they only made me sicker. I got deeper and deeper into witchcraft, thinking it was a solution. But it made me even more suicidal. Self hatred was inescapable. All my cards have fallen down. I have nothing left. But out. I wanted out. I decided i was going to kill myself. I was going to take all my pills. But then Jesus stepped in. I didnt die. I surrendered my life to Jesus to make me well and heal me. The deity i blamed for me being abused wanted to heal me. He Was fighting for me and Loved me all along. He wanted to love me. He wanted to give me His Heart. HE LOVES ME. JESUS. LOVES. ME . Jesus miraculously healed me - i am off all drugs and dont need them and i dont have any mental illnesses. I have a job and am totally healed , full of joy. I’m now a born again Christian, in my 20’s who wants the entire world to know that JESUS WANTS TO HEAL YOU HE. LOVES. YOU.

Just curious why does the God in tbe bible allow slavery? Exodus 21 shows clear it supports slavery.
@bhenderson49274 жыл бұрын
@@militeghebre5386 Please remember that the Old Testament narratives contain ethical, ceremonial, and social codes. Their application to the present day shouldn't be considered literally. God tells Moses in Exodus 23:9 that the alien should not be oppressed. Alien doesn't translate to slave but the experience of the Israelites in Egypt was that of slaves. God in fact implores they be treated as citizen, loved as one of their own (Leviticus 19:33-34). The regulation of slavery should therefore be seen as a practical step to deal with the realities of the day resulting from human fall. The aberrations that lead to alienation among individuals, races, and nations are the result of a fundamental broken relationship between humankind and God. While the Bible does not reject slavery outright, the conclusion that it actually favors slavery is patently wrong. Scripture does reveal that slavery is not ideal, both in Old Testament laws forbidding the enslavement of fellow Israelites, the law of jubilee, and in New Testament applications of Christ. In fact, the Bible teaches that the feeling of superiority in general is sin (Philippians 2:1-8)! The abolition of slavery is thus not only permissible by biblical standards, but demanded by biblical principles. The pre-fall statement that should guide and ultimately abolish such (and any) practices of superiority is the declaration that all humans are made in the image of God.

@@youtuubesuxgotorumble1534 Exactly, most people are sheep that follow whatever blindly, that is why through millennia almost every single person that ever lived followed hundreds of religions and thousands of gods. So yes, no matter how many times science proved creationism wrong they never stop with blind following and they are never nice about it because doubt and reason makes them feel scared. Luckily, times are changing, in the past hundreds of religions died out and were replaced with newer, more elaborately told lies but in the future that will not be the case, every religion will die and be replaced with atheism or agnosticism if you prefer, there is no turning back once civilization reached certain level of education and discovery.

@@zacharywilder140 There is so much proof for the validity of the Bible; the historical evidence, the philosophical evidence, and the fact that Christianity is different from other religions. How? Well, every other religion requires works for salvation, while Christianity is just complete faith in God and the fact that He sent His Son to die for our sins. One could argue that all religions technically require faith of some sort, but it all comes down to the core beliefs. Like Ray said in the video, we all have a conscience that is constantly reminding us of our sin. This conscience cannot come from randomness or chemicals in your brain, so therefore everything came from something. It is the only logical conclusion, which instantly cancels any possibility of evolution being true. Besides this, the history in the Bible matches with archaeological and historical finds. @@tommytwo-times9053 there being a God or higher power is one of the more unlikely occurrences. the Universe as far as we can tell is infinite and has existed for billions of years. It is more likely that with a known diameter of 90 billion light years and 13 billion years of changes and galactic evolution at least one single planet had the elements required to support single celled life. Cows, chickens and other animals are not created from nothing. so far all known elements can be traced by to exploding stars and other galactic occurrences. 3.7 billion years of evolution has lead to the ecosystems we know today. these ecosystems never have and never will be completely stable and suitable for life the earth has had multiple occasions where almost all life was wiped out but it managed to evolve and survive showing how difficult life is to totally kill once it has began. God is he existed didnt just create life, and if he did why create an entire limitless universe. Aliens are 99% likely to exist by the standards as well, either in intelligent life or as single celled life forms. saying there is no evidence god doent exist so he must doesnt work when you take in the totality of the circumstances. it is wholly more likely that we are living inside a simulation of our creation than some God. and if God did exist humans have no way of knowing his will, human made literature can not be trusted as a medium to spread Devine intention. Religion is a plague that has killed millions and brainwashed more into those beliefs.

@@LegitChipmmunk1002 believing in us living in a simulation takes just as much faith as saying we were created by God. they’re both beliefs of very similar nature, you’re just uncomfortable with saying there’s a God because of the implications it has. religion was a tool to civilize us and give us meaning at the very least, atheists would be stuck in the stone age.

So, I saw the video title and, as an atheist, thought I would take the challenge of your questions. It felt it would be an interesting philosophical exercise. I'm open to continuing the exercise if anyone wants to in the comments, as long as respect is maintained. The following would be my responses: "Do I fear death?" No. I love life and I do not want life to end, but I don't fear what comes after life because I won't be around to experience it. That's what non-existence is. "How can I know that nobody really knows what comes after?" Nobody really knows what comes after life because nobody dead is alive to tell me (or anyone) about it. "Do you believe in God's existence?" No. I do not believe in any sentient, supernatural force or being. As I admitted above, I am an atheist. The woman in this video is not an atheist (as she believes in a higher power), so I'll pass on some of the questions you ask that wouldn't apply to me. "Do I believe that everything came from nothing because that's the alternative to believing in a God?" This is a false dichotomy. I do not believe everything came from nothing, nor do I believe in a God. It is possible to believe that everything simply always was, though it may not have manifested in it's current form. "You're an agnostic because you don't know." Sort of, but not in the way you're suggesting. This is a bit of a semantics trap. You can not demonstrate there is a God (let alone a *specific* God) any more than I can demonstrate there is not a God (let alone demonstrate that there is not a *specific* God), so to some extent we are all agnostics. When we talk about how to qualitatively identify ourselves, we're referring to our manner of operation in the world. So, put another way, I make absolutely no decision based upon a belief in theistic retribution or reward. I fear no hellfire. I expect no heaven. I make decisions purely based on their assessed merits. "Why wouldn't you want there to be a God? Are you doing something that God would frown upon?" To the first question: I don't want there to be a God because if there is a God, God is just a fundamentally awful being (I recognize this as a rabbit hole, so we can avoid it for now). However, what I *want* has absolutely no bearing on my belief. To the second question: I can't answer this because I don't know what God would frown on, so it certainly doesn't influence my behavior. That is: my belief there is no God is not grounded in what God would or would not want. "Do you believe in the Bible?" Not in any literal sense. It is a book of many stories. I acknowledge that *some* of those stories are good (as in: hold some sort of value). "Have you kept the commandments?" I haven't broken any of the ones that would get me thrown in jail or get me divorced, but I've clearly broken all the explicitly God-related ones. For example, I do not honor God because I do not believe in God. "Are you a good person?" I am a good person. However, "good" is a very short word for a very broad term. "Have I lied and stolen?" Yes and probably? Not sure if I've stolen, but it seems unlikely that I've never stolen anything. When I was a kid I must have stolen a piece of candy once or something. "So you're a liar and a thief? And this would make you a bad person" No and no. This is an oversimplification that completely fails to observe any relevant context. Stealing a piece of candy when you're 4 and don't even understand what possessions are doesn't make a thief for eternity. It might not even make you a thief at all, if you want to get technical (since there may not have been intent). Stealing a loaf of bread to feed your starving family might make you a thief, but it doesn't necessarily make you a bad person. "You've used the Lord's name in vain. The God that gave you life. Why would you do that?" As I don't believe that God gave me life, that part doesn't apply. So why would I use it as a cuss word at all? It's societally ingrained to be impactful in that context. Why would anyone say "phooey" when something goes wrong? Same reason. I don't say it because I "hate God," as I do not believe God exists. "If he judges you based on the 10 Commandments, then would he find you guilty? Would he send you to heaven or hell?" If a being that does not exist judges me on things that he didn't say (since beings that do not exist do not say things) would he send me to one of two fictional locations? If this being were malevolent, it would send me to hell. If it were just, it would send me to heaven. "If God gives you justice, that's terrifying." It isn't to me. I don't believe in God. Further, justice as I understand it, would work in my favor and not against it. So if God was real and was just, I would benefit from that scenario, not suffer from it. "When you don't look at the sun, does it go away?" No. I agree that reality is a concept that is unaffected by my personal beliefs. "Why would Jesus say: it is finished?" You'd have to ask the author. :D If I was in the lymphoma scenario described at the end, I wouldn't be fearful. I would be sad. As I said at the start, I don't fear death, I simply love life. I'm not here to disrespect anyone or their beliefs, just engage in the thought experiment and share my own views. If anyone would like to continue the conversation in a similar spirit, feel free to reply. :)

I was disappointed that neither of these kids questioned any of those points told to them or considered the flaws in the arguments being made. It will be interesting to see if you receive rational and convincing arguments against the points you took the time to write out.
