I’ve been there, in her shoes, with massive arrogance and so much doubt and confusion about God. For a long time. It is by the love and mercy of Allah that I was guided back to him, almost in an instant. Only God knows why some of us go so far off of the path, to return years later. It is only God that can guide the hearts and open the eyes. After living this, I know it so deeply. That’s why when someone is not ready, I just make dua that Allah guide them. The creator of time and space, who has already written the decree for all of our lives.

I reask the question of the brother above, was there a certain statement or concept (or several) that made it easier?
@HolyMonotony6 ай бұрын
@@user-jq7qj3vp8v A series of events. The river of life. Some good things, lots of painful things. In my 30s I started to ponder about the creator. Synchronicity really fascinated me. The patterns in the universe, the universe itself, cells, babies in the womb…everything so do only designed. I look back now at my many years (a few decades) or not remember god, not thanking god etc, and am so grateful for the providential care that was given to me. All the times I could have been hurt but wasn’t, that kind of thing. Spent some years in therapy for childhood trauma stuff. A lot of it didn’t help, it was like a regurgitation of pain. My nervous system was pretty wired to feel afraid or let down etc. All this time I was coming up with ways I thought I had created out of my brilliance (lol) to meditate or to be mindful etc. for example once I set alarms through the day to do breathing and gratitude affirmations. Of course now looking back it’s like, duh, maybe wudu (feels so good!) and say god is the greatest and you’re doing the best breathing technique and giving thanks and getting out of your head, and refocusing on what truly matters etc. Anyway, one day I was just having a moment of some internal pain and I remember the verse about God being closer to you than your jugular vein. I remember a calm coming over me like a baby who had been terrified to be left alone but was suddenly soothed. Which is what we all really are. And then re realize: I am never alone. The creator and his intelligence is with me, seeing me, planned my destiny, knows my soul, all of that. That was the first whisper I’d say. Then I started just sitting on my prayer mat. Random times. Then I started sitting on it at the prayer times. Then I started praying. Didn’t remember the words so I wrote it down in a book and very slowly taught myself to pray. Sometimes without wudu. I mean slowly a patient god kind of held me, and I felt a reunion with my oldest friend almost. I began to feel the wisdom in the things I had discarded or thought were stupid. It was slow, but steady. I listened to Quran on KZbin, cried a lot feeling these intense feelings in my heart of the bigness of the creator and the universe and the unseen world. I felt small but also so connected to Allah. While I was pretty plugged into the western world so to speak, I never drank or smoked or things like that (did lots of other haram things), so maybe that was easier because my body in some ways was ready. I’m not in a part of my journey where I do a lot of dhikr, lots of astaghfirullah, very intuitively feel like I want to be emptied of past sins because I can clearly see how so much of my pain was inflicted because of my own wrong doings. I made a book of dua and keep it next to my bed, just little things to keep my connected to Allah throughout the day. I think a lot of women who walked away may feel lost at some point, may want to return to God. It’s their birth right after all (thank God for the fitra). Islam has been healing for me as a woman. I see the gift of it for mankind. And Allah is the best of planners, which makes me feel peace when I think of how badly I sinned or how far I walked from the path, and feel sometimes less than other women who have not. I remember that Allah was with me all along, and the decree that was written knew the exact moment I would be kneeling on the mat remembering that God is closer to me than my jugular vein. I ask for closeness with Allah in my dua, in both worlds and give thanks for the return journey. Sometimes I am so grateful I cry. I feel such a closeness. And then I still struggle to wake up for fajr. But when I do and then go to sleep after praying isha it’s a peace that is unmatched. May Allah guide her and all people seeking clarify and closeness with their creator.

This discussion was a classic example of when an irrational position is considered more rational than a rational one, and that's why it's important for people to reflect honestly, making sure their reflection is free from any kind of distortion. You see, often today, we see many people who prefer to believe whatever suits their prefered lifestyle and ego, and there are people that refuse to even acknowledge the rights of their parents, let alone acknowledge the rights of the creator. Some of them say, 'My parents did nothing for me', and some say they were born from nothing for nothing. The fact of the matter is that dynamic modern societal norms defined by the most powerful, yet corrupt members of society are the main source of guidance for the masses, and only brainwashing can achieve the feat of making the irrational apeear as rational.
