Reminds me of my father. When I was a Pagan teen he would debate my devout Christian step-mother about Jesus AS and would mock her beliefs (he's an Athiest) after watching documentaries together. I would hear their debates and thought he was ignorant. He used to say "if God comes to me in-person then I will believe in Him" Then when I met him in 2019, after coming to Islam in 2018 I reminded him of what he used to say. Occam's razor is least multiplication of entities, not the same as "simplest". The distinction is important, but Occams razor shouldn't be taken as a principle; the value is in consolidated ideas being more flexible in our mental ecosystems (metabolic efficiency of thought). Once this is understood, then Allah bringing Islam (peace) becomes clearly the ultimate of all axioms on which to base one's thinking. I am an ex-atheist and I have a degree in theoretical physics, my neuro-diversity means I express myself better in mathematics than in English. And yet the droves of people who have read a few popular books or watched the odd video start telling me I don't understand "science". The thing about materialism as a belief system, is that the afflicted don't realise they have a belief system, and so don't understand where the emotions that are tripping their brains into pointless circular arguments come from - they blame the other who does understand their own belief system, but they are projecting the flaws they cannot see on a person they do not understand, because they don't understand themselves. The apparent arrogance is just a phenomenon of the subconscious knowing how fragile those mental links are.

Salam brother. Would you be kind enough to share maybe #1 or #2 points on what convinced that there there is God? Its ok if you use maths etc. But since you reverted to Islam there must have been some points a muslim said to you in the past that opened up your mind? It may help us to understand how a person who is inclined towards science or maths became convinced that Life/universe did come from random chance or just came from "nothing". For some atheists - it is that "eureka" moment when somehow the concept of a Creator made sense - this is what I mean. OR maybe if my request is not too convenient - maybe websites or books that helped you? If you cpuld just mention 1 or 2 - I imagine of course reading the translation of the Quran helped too. So im referring to other resources. I dont mean to inconvenience you of course. Just a humble request on my part. Ramadan Mubarak. It is very hard to summarise, as there is a complex web of related points; there wasn't one thing, I was debating with a fellow physics student from Kuwait over at least 6 months! He correctly identified that my atheist beliefs had a number of circularities and assumptions to them which were considered as "obvious" to me as Allah was to him. I used Occam's razor to try to make him have to justify Allah as an additional assumption, but alhamdulillah by holding onto tawhid he was able to prove that in-fact applying the same standards he had only a single assumption "shahadda" while I had many assumptions which I jumped between when we switched from physics to history to biology etc. (moreover, the intellectual glue between these areas of thought barely exists in materialism, but is well mapped in various abstraction layers in Islamic thought. Another important element was the fact that Islamic philosophy seamlessly integrates into practical worldly implementation, and has many qualities other belief systems (particularly modern ones) don't have. Consistency is fundamental to truth, but consistency is only made in local (specialist) areas of materialist thought, the fact there is little consistency established between them is accepted and there is an unmarked belief that the trajectory will always improve (but this is not the case taking the most important metrics). Atheists/materialists generally think they don't have a belief system like religious people do, but the fact is human beings literally cannot logically function without belief systems. So, if they think they don't have any beliefs on faith, they simply don't understand the belief system their brain is running on. Assumptions are fundamental to all sciences, and particularly foundational in physics and maths - there are so many axioms they cannot be counted and Godel proved ~100 years ago they cannot be put on a complete and consistent basis. Atheists necessarily hold far more "fundamental" articles of faith than Muslims, they just don't recognise them as such, and particularly don't recognise that belief in their brain's ability to reason independent of their emotional realtionship to thoughts would be inhuman if they could do it. I could go on and on, really. But for a lot of this, one needs to have a really deep understanding of the history of thermodynamics to modern phsysics, how that grew out of the englightenment period etc. The reason I say a really deep understanding, is because most people aren't aware that the late 19th to early 20th centry was a time of intense ideological warfare with all the attendant propaganda. The dominant narrative of western society won because of political and economic influences, not because of intellectual wins. In addition, the "death of God" was really the death of the Trinity as it could not stand up to logical scruitiny it then became the straw-man representing the strength of all faith positions. Western thought has never even seriously engaged with Tawhid of Allah - the very word "God" implies to them a choice of one of the options; all Atheists believe there's an array of "Gods" which are all made up by people (they're generally not aware of the fact Islam was brought to every prophet and corrupted by the people). However, if one has in mind a concept of God which permits the possibility of an alternative, then they do not have the same concept of God in their minds as a Muslim has in theirs. The realisation of things like this really cannot be made by force of reason alone, Allah has to enable the heart to see. This is an important point; if their heart isn't ready to take it seriously, then they will just go around in circles and Shaytaan will generate bad feelings. Its often better to think of Atheism as a developmental disability (but don't tell them that!), if they don't want your help getting over it then it wouldn't be right to try and force help on them. However, over time by interacting with good character and showing that you are intelligent and do carefully consider your beliefs in other areas they can identify with, they will iA want to ask your help to catch up on the spiritual component that they have been neglecting or otherwise lost on. If you send me a private message, we can arrange some further conversation; people who are struggling with atheists help to remind me of things to put in the book (and/or videos) I'm preparing. @@alexojideagu Yeah brother but this is still no the issue. I have no problem in someone saying “I don’t really think there’s a God since I found nothing convincing”. I have an issue when atheists come and claim there are literally no proof whatsoever for the existence of God, it’s empirically true and they take that as a fact, discarding anything else. Moreover, they create a false premise on top of which they base their entire argument, which then us have to, for some mysterious reason, deal with. That’s the only thing I’m arguing, and it happens multiple times in most of the videos of Hamza with atheists, in other videos that I have seen as well, and in my personal life. It’s not a localised problem.

When you see something that has signs of intelligent design, you infer the designer. You don't need to see the designer. For example, the pyramids. We can't see who made them, but we can infer that they were designed. It wasn't a storm that happened, and then the pyramids were created when the dirt particles got smashed together, not even if the storm lasted twenty-trillion years. And it certainly wouldn't become conscious out of nowhere. The consciousness is far more complex than the pyramids. The theory of evolution as it's presented to the layman is a complete lie. God has given plenty of signs of His existence to the sincere and humble so that we may make a choice about who we want to be. But the ones with egos the size of mountains, arrogance, and a resistance to the idea of submission or being controlled will continue to disbelieve so that their actions are unmonitored and unchecked. They think they're smarter than theists, and their default mode towards religion is mock and scorn. They could be talking to someone with master's degrees in theology, philosophy, etc and they'll still mock that person, and assume that person is unintelligent, without basis or understanding to substantiate that belief. They consider themselves superior in the fact that they are undisciplined in their speech, manners, and behavior, as though it's a virtue to live for pleasure and the fulfillment of desire, or as if that way of life is the undisputed truth. They see it as a form of strength. They take themselves for gods, and overvalue their own understanding and perception. They think the answers should come to them, the same way a salesman must come to them. That's why they keep demanding that Muslims dance for them and prove something to them as if we NEED them to believe anything. They won't accept any evidence short of God outright showing Himself, at which point it wouldn't be free will anymore, and their choice to submit to God would then be worthless. Our only duty is to convey the message, not convert them.

God is by definition a supernatural being, so even if we say that he 100% exists for argument's sake, even then science still wouldn't be able to prove his existence because science only deals with the natural world.
