I recently turned 53, but it's only been about 4 years since I was finally able to "make my escape" from the religious indoctrination that kept me so stressed and uncertain for most of my life. Watched many "Non Stamp Collector" and "Dark Matter" vids during my initial transition period, and they helped greatly. Really wish I had known about your vids, too, during that time. But at least I now have them available to suggest to others who might need some "enlightenment". Love your delivery style.

This actually makes sense on some level (although I know you're a troll and I'm not sure why I keep watching your videos because they cause me great stress, but you're entertaining). Christians have to analyze their actions a lot more than athiests do. Athiests are only constrained by simple morality, which is very subjective, while religious people are constrained by morals AND doctrine. If I were an athiest, I could say "oh my God" all I want, start chowing down on dinner without praying, have a wild party life at college in a few years without feeling guilty (because after all, there's no eternal life, so why not enjoy this life to the fullest by getting drunk and hooking up?), and never be plagued by existential questions (when you die, you're dead). Being a Christian, even a non-devout one, has definitely made me more contemplative. But religion also makes life easier for me, because without the promise of eternal life, the losses I have experienced would have probably destroyed me long ago.

For example, mine is music; I get the same feeling from researching, singing, and composing/arranging music that, say, Christians would get from reading the Bible, praying, and going to church would get. As for afterlife, no, music doesn't give me hopes of getting to live again, but at least I have something to live for that makes me as happy as I can be. Religion is just that - a way for people to think and go about their lives so that they can feel good about their life.

In other words, if you think getting drunk and hooking up with everyone is "living life to the fullest", I'm afraid you've got some issues, yourself. Atheism isn't a free ticket to do whatever the hell we want, despite common belief among theists. We are still moral people, and have all of the expectations and standards that you theists do. I used to debate Theists, the thing is I am not religious and you are. That's really all it comes down to, I learned that after long debates that get quite specific logic tends to become subjective and no one proves anything to the other. No comes out on top and both walk away with the same views as before. I'm content with life without religion. Who I am as a person matters, morality/ goodwill is something to believe in and strive to do/be. Peace to you sir.

Billions of dollars a year are spent on building Churches, Synagogues, Temples, etc. Society could be using this money to find a way to stop global warming, making energy-efficient vehicles and buildings. I grew up Christian and studied the Bible. I know what is in it and how it is structured. However, people these days don't even read the book their faith is BASED ON. They just pick and choose what to believe in, or they "interpret" what the Bible says in order to fit their daily lives. Religion is a joke.
