So who technically wins ? because both fights were about equal time . I would say athena because that one got in close and fought and looked to have less damage at the end compared to the first fight.

Agreed the Athenas torpedos load quick then the Polaris. Coupled with speed and maneuverability it definitely comes out on top. The only thing is that it's size means that it can't take as much damage.

Those quantum torpedo noises on the Polaris class need fixing. That is the defiants pulse phaser noise. It sounds stupid.

Different mission profiles. Polaris is clearly a battleship, designed to tank hits and dish out, those rapid phasers were deadly. Athena clearly more of a intrepid/prometheus styled new Akira. Torpedo cruiser, stupid powerful but cant take much of a beating.

So the lore for the Athena is that it is based on a hybrid between a Defiant Class and Intrepid class. Whilst you're right that they are different mission profiles, it's more about how the captain fights the ship rather than the ships themselves. Sort of like the Voyager episode "Equinox" when Captain Ransom get's the better of Janeway the first time around.
