Athena's Miracle Story of an AVM in the Brain- Neurosurgery Plano, TX

Athena was born with a rare condition that eventually caused an arteriovenous malformation in the brain. This eventually lead to a brain bleed, seizure and stroke. After being rushed to the hospital, Dr. Thomas Kosztowski, Neurosurgeon at Texas Back Institute, performed emergency surgery to relieve the pressure on her brain. After a second planned surgery she has been recovering well and was "super grateful" to everyone who has been on her healing journey.

I recently saved my mom at 2:30 am called 911 this happened to her, she had the same thing happen. Today my mom got out of icu. Now she has to get the AVM removed and part of her skull put back. She has to first recover for a good month or so before any type of surgery. I’m happy you are ok.
