Hey Electric Vehicles channel, this interview was very good. Your questions at 5:00 - 7:50 are really good, I liked that you asked them about the failure of chargers that’s basically like selling a bad product that’s a beta model, and then a good and finished product will be after the next version.. with a 1 year warranty, they are basically selling a MTech Students product in a plastic casing.. not a deployable product..

Why only Ather and Ola is discussed. Simple energy is also rolling out fast chargers, bit nobody is talking about them

Ola Ather products are available. Simple is yet to launch. Axiom has fast chargers for Simple energy as well.

@@lalitpurohit2677 Simple has launched on August 15. According to company they are installing over 300 loop chargers starting late 2021 and early 2022. I pre-booked and expect test ride and scooter delivery late January or February per company. Good to know fast chargers will be available soon

Solar canopies in parking lots with electric vehicle chargers are needed. All large parking lots should have a row of solar panels and EV chargers.

Everybody is focusing and talking high about setting up charging stations everywhere in the country. Very good, I say. EV's need it, for sure. BUT where will all this EXTRA energy come from??? Once the number of customers at charging stations begins to grow exponentially, the energy requirements will become astronomical. Is anybody in Government level visualising this reality and doing anything CONCRETE to address this VERY SERIOUS issue.
@barryobrien18903 жыл бұрын
Yes. Moving vehicles from oil to electric really helps the government's strategy to reduce the dependence on oil and the impact on foreign exchange. India has a large reserve of coal and India is not planning on phasing out coal until after 2050, so likely the next stage will be to ramp up coal generation as its predictable. Solar, wind etc can also be used to increase capacity as this technology becomes cost efficient. A much bigger question to ask, is where is the government going to find the tax revenue it derives from the sale of petrol and diesel. If they hike electric rates, the poor will pay for roads they do not drive on. This is a global issue faced by all countries moving away from oil powered vehicles.

@@barryobrien1890 Good observation. Actually, this Fossil fuel based solution is an age old scam. It was promoted because it's monopoly would always remain in the hands of Governments. Individuals would always be dependent on the Government, to procure it for their use. On the contrary, electric power can easily be generated by individuals, at their premises, without any dependence on the Government. If the government were to raise prices of electricity, the people have the option to use private solar and wind based energy, to charge their EV'S.

@@tonyrebeiro not sure that was always the case. Rural electrification is seen as a very important phase to bring people put of poverty and it's totally unprofitable, so governments are required to take on the heavy lifting. It is a lot easier to rely on the community to provide roads, sewers, electricity and water than going it alone. That said, in recent times, going off grid is increasingly possible with modern technology, but it's still way beyond the budget of most, especially if you rely on subsidies. I do worry that electric vehicles will actually add to pollution as coal replaces oil and gas. At least with electricity there are viable alternatives. Road taxes will be interesting. I do see a day coming where our phones are used to collect tax for all our trips out of the home. Lots of new tech coming soon

Very little insight provided by this interview. I can spare you the trouble of watching the video, there is no business model explained of Ather or Ola Electric. The only takeaway is that all 2W manufacturers must standardize their charging connector - this is obvious to anyone in interested in eVs
