Oh, wow! THANK YOU, Father. I REALLY need this! I am such a prickly hedgehog indeed! I can't stand to be criticized. I try so hard to do a perfect job each day at work, thus I fly into a cold fury when criticized. It's a terrible habit. I've been praying about it for so long and following the advice offered by a priest: "Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like your heart". Just yesterday, as I did the dishes at home, I found myself thinking, what does it actually mean to be 'humble'? Surely I'm not supposed to become a doormat for everyone! Was Jesus really a doormat? Of course not! So, what does it mean to be humble? I thought through different possibilities, but eventually gave up thinking about it. Then, this morning, right after the online Mass, I came upon this video talk on HUMILITY! I just know it is God's Spirit that has led me to it. THANK YOU SO MUCH. God bless you.

Humility is the foundation of all virtues accdg to St Thomas Aquinas. The world we live in now is obviously lacking in humility. People tend to blame each other thus we have all kinds of problems. I hope and pray that we really practice humility so that we have peace in our family, community and the whole world. God bless you Fr Bing for reminding us.

Today’s society is oriented towards fault-finding, retaliation, cyber bullying, “I need to get even” attitude, “I must speak or get back....” Practice of Humility is a great and ongoing challenge. On the positive side, it is also an opportunity to 🛑, take a few breaths, get recollected, speak only the truth. Most of the time that is not well-taken and I find saying “God bless you” and just walk away from the situation does wonders. One time I was watching an ongoing news/commentary program on TV and I checked out the Live Chat. One commentator said some things about the present situation so I made mention about the unavailability of public transportation for over 3 months was not right yet people esp health care workers need to go to work, work long hours, walk to and from work for at least 2 hours 1-way. I mentioned that these people put their lives in line to care for the sick and they have families but they are not provided the proper PPEs, transportation, minimal pay etc. He answered out of context so I just mentioned that I am a nurse and I see why health care professionals are getting sick and dying because of stress and the above reasons. In CAPITAL letters he said that We swore to it and so it is our job and he does not care about our challenges and inconveniences. First, I addressed that use of capital letters electronically means yelling. Then I said Yes we swore to it but we are humans too and our bodies can just take so much and in fact even if we are not well we force ourselves to work to care for the sick. Lastly, just pray you won’t be hospitalized and there will be no nurses and doctors. God bless. Scornfully he made a joke of my response then typed LOL. I found the best way to deal with people like this...I blocked him...then I realized, he couldn’t make comments on the program anymore....then I prayed and offered reparation.

Father bing I am a cradle Catholic and I too have been searching for the meaning of what humility I was tart but not in this depth of how you’re explaining it and the examples that you’re giving I know our Lady is Humble and full of humility and so is Jesus but you have put it in perspective thank God for you getting out there on KZbin and teaching us I will have a lot of work ahead of me and reevaluating myself feeling that my opinion was the most important and finding out it’s not necessary to give my viewpoint to judge and I thank you very very much God bless you🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😂
