Would love to see a video about training when suffering from mental illnesses such as anxiety or depression, how to overcome it, whether to lower the intensity and stuff like that
@freeminded77903 жыл бұрын
My anxiety used to be horrible, it’s only a tab bit now but controllable. Depression comes and goes.. I believe it has to do with being deficient in Vitamin D or choline. Really al our issues are stemming from being deficient in certain minerals/vitamins.. What helped me and made a huge difference was my diet. Cutting out sugar as much as possible, oils like canola, this includes eating out at fast food places, eating more organic Whole Foods and fruits. Sometimes I can’t afford the organic it is what it is, I do my best to eat healthy and you really don’t need much I’m learning that as I go. You just want to eliminate all the triggers. Heal your GUT ! It controls everything from cravings, hunger, mood, thinking patterns. I’ve learned everything I know here on KZbin! Dr.Berg, Dr.Axe, medical medium. Awesome stuff 😎 Just know it takes time to heal from years of mistreatment.. so don’t give up I promise you it gets better!!! Good luck on your healing journey ❤️🩹
@simonkendra30792 жыл бұрын
no. people who work out as their job should not give advice on how to work out with a mental illness, do not glorify fitness trainers. stuff yourself with vitamins, REALLY commit to sleeping, eating and start with going outside. prolong that walk. then try jogging... one push-up here and there... and build up. remember that you cannot and will not start working out one day and do a full routine and destroy your body in a gym. ease into it.

Thank you for this. My glute medius and adductors always seem to take over anything I do that is supposed to activate my glute maximus. The tip about avoiding external rotation really helped avoid the medius activation. That unconscious rotation must come from my years and years of dance. Now, if I could just deactivate my overdeveloped adductors, I'd be golden.

I've been doing glute-bridges -- with just body weight -- and one of the things that I've found interesting is if I use my hands to pull my feet closer to my glutes when I'm in the down-position, then it seems to help me cut-out some of the hamstring contribution when I arch up. Possibly even as a bonus, at peak arch, there's some quad activation too... not much, but a bit.
@YazzyYaz19103 жыл бұрын
That makes sense. The hamstrings become less active and cannot produce maximal tension when the muscle is shortened to that degree. This causes the glutes to work harder to perform hip extension
@elmocino Жыл бұрын
this doesn’t work me, just makes me cramp in the hamstrings

Back in the early 80’s (when I was 19), I found an exercise for the Glutes that was extremely simple and I thought it worked well. You sit down on the floor with your legs stretched out in front, and all you do is begin walking across the floor on your butt, using your butt muscles. One butt cheek at a time, you inch your way across the floor. Go back and forth across the floor a few times a day as part of your routine. If nothing else, it certainly is great for toning the butt, and without any machine or weights.

I would suggest that people try using a Roman Chair. I first used one that was high in the air. You start out horizontal. Lower your upper body so that your upper body is nearly vertical. Then raise back up. When you are horizontal, raise your upper body just a little above horizontal. You will feel a tightness in your glutes. I have used a diagonal one that was low to the floor. It helped, but for me did not work as well. When I added in the Roman Chair, I noticed that it helped my hamstrings, glutes, and lower back. This was the only change that I made to my workouts.

Dudes if you want to bulk the glutes you have to lift heavier weight. I did resistance workouts like crazy for over a year with firm results butt very little growth. I bought a cable kickback machine with leg straps and my glutes exploded as I increased my weight gradually. I do 2 days a week, 4 to 5 sets/reps between 10 and 15 with weights. Also I throw in a set of dumbbell squats in between each set before I rest 120 seconds. Then I jump on the stepper for a round of 4 sets of 100 then my glutes are on FIRE! Then on one day I use resistance and body weight to hit other areas of my glute. THEN REST AND GROW.

Jokes aside, Jeff is a genius! Excellent diagnosis worth flow + excellent treatment. No wonder it's my go-to fitness channel.

@@JuDo-013 Haha, well I appreciate why you would feel that way, but please understand... Chuck Norris learned everything he knows about overcoming the laws of physics by being an avid viewer of Athlean-X... before either Jeff or Chuck were even born...

Excellent video. The lower body contributes a lot to strength every day and the glute is something that attributes also to supporting the upper body as to not strain yourself in certain activities or performances

*From the past few weeks I am having unbearable pain from my right hand to right leg. Your exercises helped a little and ease my pain for few hours but after few hours I feel the same pain. It's too hard to live with this pain*

Check if you don't have hip rotation (not tilt) or trunk torsion / rotation. Like in this article: www.posturedirect.com/how-to-fix-a-rotated-pelvis/ I had/have it (hip rotated to right side) and it sometimes gives me hand/toes needle pain senation. I also got an episode of 1-2 weeks like right SI joint pain which radiates to external part of the right leg.

For the wall version, make sure you squeeze your shoulder blades together slightly so that at the top of the lift you’re resting on your shoulders instead of resting your body weight on your neck

When Jeff grabs Jesse's glutes, he grabs them with both hands to avoid any muscle imbalance. Also for better mind and muscle connection.

I’ve been looking for something like this for ages. I noticed an imbalance in my left vs right glute and I needed something to fix this. No matter how hard I tried, my glute medius is what got activated on my left, vs my right which feels nice and strong. The left feel like it’s using the hamstring to assist it as well, and in turn my left hamstring is actually bigger than my right due to that extra assistance in my weight training exercises. I will definitely be adding this, unfortunately today was leg day for me and I can’t even do the test rn because I’m destroyed.. lol

those NM activation vids are great. It worked very good for the biceps in my case... so I will see, whether i can complement my anti-lower-back-pain measures with that one here. . Item for the Wishlist: activation of the front delts.... thanks so much!

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten so that who ever may believe in him may have eternal life. John 3:16 Jesus died for you so why don’t you live for him. Humble yourself and come before Him and call upon His name. Ask for forgiveness so that your sins may be washed away.

Love the channel but this is at least one thing I've got on lock. I use sword techniques to work out plus wearable weights. This means I do 160 deep lunges, 40 sword squats & 40 swings in horse stance. I quite literally can't help but work my glutes.
