At one point it was Athletic, in fact, who saved Sociedad from disappearing, due to debts & bad management. It looks like, without Athletic existence, ethos and backing , teams like Alaves, Osasuna, Sociedad (and so many others) wouldn't have passed the ´90s due to those very same problems: Talk about benefits...
