Getting to be under the direction of Sir Andre Thomas was one of the highest honors I’ve held in my lifetime.

I love this piece! We are singing it as an introit to our Advent Lessons and Carols service tomorrow night. No conga drums, unfortunately--just a capella. (I sing with the Canterbury Choir at the Chapel of St. John the Divine (Episcopal) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.)

Our church choir sang this on Sunday. We’ve done it before and I was one of the people who sang it with them.

Those were the days, Dr. Thomas, thank you. I too, like many others here, cherish memories of having been a part of musical organizations you created--the Tallahassee Community Chorus, in my case. I now live in Berlin, Germany and sing in the church choir of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The conductor's face is more fascinating to me than most Hollywood Blockbusters. I would like a complete series of videos of this excellent choir as long as we always have one camera on the conductor and have him visible in the corner at all times. I wasn't even singing but when he made the pained expression I felt a deep sense of grief for having disappointed him. Setting that aside, this is an absolutely stunning arrangement, wonderfully performed. "Children don't get weary…" Amen and amen.

Just watching him direct, I am so impressed with what he did with this choir and this song. I played it today in my church during offertory. I actually sang this in our church decades ago-but we didn’t sound THIS good!

As I was lighting some scented candles while I deep clean my house, this song (which I hadn't heard since my Uni days) bubbled up in my Spirit and I began to sing it! The LORD often ministers to me through song, so I know it was not by chance... It WILL encourage those for whom it is intended. The amazing Professor, Dr. Andre' Thomas who is directing in THIS video IS the man who introduced this song into my life while I sang in Concert Choir at Florida State University School of Music. Enjoy and continue to look to the Author and Finisher of our faith..
