I have been worried about you and Ken and Timo, but I am so pleased that you have friends who have come to the rescue! A house in France! It feels a lot safer now and Timo will have so much fun in the new territory. I understand that it is all far from over but it looks like people are rallying around you and you are getting some support. I feel so sorry that you have to leave Turkey which you have taken as your home. Best wishes, and I am so excited to see the next event in your life. After many visits to Dalyan we never booked in on a hiking trip… one day we will. But we just got back from Rhodes and hiked with HikingRhodes - incredible! Obviously slightly different rock terrain but we embraced our inner Elise from all your fantastic videos and we were so happy to have finally hiked in an area of the world which is simply stunning.

Reminds me of hiking in Sedona and Flagstaff, AZ - especially at high elevation (The Peaks) in Flagstaff (and crossing the Grand Canyon as well). You can see all the way to the Painted Desert.........Shalom. I'm glad you didn't end up on Patmos!

I believe that this issue will continue into other countries. If you are not a citizen, then prepare. I'm in this situation myself and feel that your experience is coming to many of us. When the EU collapses (Germany has broken Schengen) all those of us living in foreign countries will be under pressure. The US and Canada will do the same.

I wonder how many others who made Turkey their long-term home and lived there for years causing no problems but promoting and respecting the country, settled in their local community like yourselves are now being forced to leave.. and who will come in instead? Part-time visitors? Why they didn't leave alone the people who were there a long time able to provide for themselves doesn't make sense and is very unfair..

Don't forget that most of the people that have been here for years have a long term residency.They are not in trouble. I did not get that because of the income requirement.
