CHANAAN=from Punjabi (the regional language of Punjab Province in Pakistan) Chan, meaning moon, therefore Chanaan meaning O my moon=O my Darling. BUT, PAR CHANAA DE, the title of the other song you are referring to at 11:39 is Chanaa is derived from Chenab (a river in Punjab (Panj=five, aab=water, or land of the five rivers), therefore, PAR CHANAAN DE means Across the river Chenab.

One day, her sister in law gets to know about this and she replaces the baked mud pot with an unbaked one. When Sohni wents out in that unbaked clay pot, it melts while crossing the river, and she drowns in the middle of the way, in the river, infront of her lover mahinwal, who is on the other side and can't swim, he also jumps into the river to save her, and both died.

ve "Channa" means, O My Moon Channa is a Punjabi version of "Chand" Chand is a word from Urdu which means the Moon The other song "Par Channa de" There is different meaning for that, Channa in that song is referred to the Channab River, Par Channa de means "On the other side of Channab"

The part where you mention that you’re afraid that life has an end and is finite while the lyrics claim that we never break ties. Well our songs are reflective of culture and tradition which in return is reflecting the religion Islam. In Islam this life is temporary and we await what the real life “afterlife” is going to be.
