Torque Converter Welding at ATI Performance Products, Inc

Here is a quick video demonstration of how we weld our high performance converters at ATI. The CW3 converter welding machine is manufactured at ATI, and used around the world for Race converters and OEM converter manufacturing alike. Under normal operating conditions and not shooting a video you can accurately weld a converter in approximately 90 seconds.

You said it was ready to be shipped out after welding but doesnt it need balanced after the weld ?

Yes we still balance, leak check, and paint before shipping.

Auto tax feature is best does six tacs the auto weld , I'd wear a helmet IV got some bad flash from these machines before

Didnt get the feeling of an professional operator, 2 tack welds on the same side and then full welding...

The runout was only 3thou so obviously they have it worked out

She started the main weld run opposite the tacks. If you think a little you will realise that's all you need.
