That game had a lot of emotions based off of what happened last year . I think some of our players probably liked Aurther Smiths . But I also feel that Justin Fields felt some kinda way to be playing for someone that wouldn't draft him when he was the coach of the Falcons

This was my exact thought. They could have benefited from watching their mistakes on film in live game action. There’s a reason why Kirk said he likes to play preseason. He needs it!

Jessie bates said in his interview while describing the threats the eagles present, “some coaches make it too complicated, those guys (the eagles) do a good job throwing it up and letting their receivers do their thing”. He’s saying what we know to be true. This ain’t rocket science. Not attacking means you’re in the fetal position in this league.

I clearly do not know more than the professionals, but I can’t understand what we used preseason for. It just seemed like a big waste of time. No doubt the injuries played a key part. I also fear another season of QB uncertainty.

Terry should be fired if this isn't a hit year. What will he have done? Draft shiny toys? There is a reason GMs don't do what the Falcons did and draft shiny toys before the foundation is set. Either they aren't that good or his team construction hasn't allowed his shiny toys to shine. I have never seen a GM get no blame no matter what from some. The only way Terry looks good IMO is if Penix looks like a star. Then nobody will care. But odds on the 4th QB drafted becoming a star? Not good. Just look back to the Lawrence, Wilson, Lance, Fields etc. draft where every franchise was convinced they had their star QB. At some point the guy has to put a winning product on the field. He's running out of excuses.

This roster isn't anywhere close to being as good as people say. Pitts hasn't made any progress, Drake still has a problem getting separation. The Oline has always been bad and I think AS covered up a lot of the deficiencies with his play calling. The CBs aren't good, still no pass rush. Fontenot has had terrible drafts. His 1st draft class only Grant and Pitts are still on the team and Grant doesn't play anymore. None of the rookies except Penix whi us a backup even made the active roster week 1. There is a reason why we don't have any depth

I hate to be negative, but we're not beating the eagles, kirk can't even play under center, & the eagles defense is better than Pittsburghs. We will start the season 0-2 or 0-3 , when we play the saints we might go on a win streak

To play devil's advocate, people could argue he hasn't drafted well and hasn't addressed some problem areas well enough in the off season. From my point of view, it seems like it can be difficult to make an evaluation on a GM quickly, so they usually get several years to put it all together.

We are about to see if Atlanta can stop the run & create turnovers with interceptions. Philly gave up 29 to Green Bay & Falcons need to take the fight to Philadelphia & get to Jalen Hurts & force him to throw passes with D Lineman in his face like the Steelers did to Atlanta. If Atlantas Defensive Backs are really good the Falcons should sell out to stop the Run.

My thing about Terry Fontenot is this: the majority of our best players are holdovers from the previous regime. He hasn’t really moved us anywhere fr. We were a mediocre team before and now we are still a meeciore team in a horrible division that we aren’t even the consensus to win. And his drafting has been horrible, with an over evaluation of the skill position and horrible reaches in the second round. In summary he hasn’t moved the needle that much and it’s increasingly clear he really doesn’t have the capability
