As a transplant the local people in Atlanta get really upset when we transplants lump the whole metro area as Atlanta. Atlantans have to understand people who lived in other cities with huge city limits lines like Chicago, Detroit, Dallas, Houston, Jacksonville, LA, and so on don't have time to figure out those small city limit lines of Atlanta. Atlanta itself is small but the metro area is ranked 6th biggest in the nation.
