Saw them at the wild hog boogie in Little Rock , Arkansas in 79. It was a summer festival complete with fire hoses to the crowd and doobies galore. Black oak Arkansas, Molly hatchet, ARS, and the doobie brothers. Every band was fantastic. ARS was the most laid back band I ever saw. Taking 10 minutes between songs engaging with the crowd and making drinks from their mobile bar onstage. I recommend hitchhikers hero and homesick, both songs recounting the era of the late 60s.

Excellent choice of song and band. I saw them perform live in 78. Was a fan of their music before the show but didn't expect them to be as good live as they turned out to be. Ended up being one of my favorite concerts I've ever been to. They were superb. And the band Wet Willie opened for them and were amazing also. ARS would stretch the songs out and turn them into a jam session. Y'all should check out the band Wet Willie. Their songs Keep On Smiling and Grits Ain't Groceries would be some tunes you would enjoy.

Big Man was on the bass, bro. I saw that little smirk on Olli's face when the bassist got his camera moment. This song was so ubiquitous (and still is) on classic rock radio that I 100% thought you guys were going to go "Ohhhhh I've heard this song before..." And then Corey would say "I know that riff. I know that riff! But I've only ever heard bits and pieces, never the whole thing!"

When the Atlanta Rhythm Section song "Imaginary Lover" came out, it was discovered that if you sped up the turntable, the vocals sounded like Stevie Nicks. These days you can do the same with pitch shifting, without having to speed up the whole song. (Example on Y.T.)

Put the full version on your playlist. If you listen to the album version, you get an excellent solo near the end that is worth a re-listen. I would suggest "Champagne Jam" by them for a different style and unreal bass line and solo and the song "Doraville" for just a cool groove. One of my favorite go to groups.

Back in the 70's Atlanta and the area around Atlanta were a hotbed of rock and southern rock. On any weekend you could catch Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, ARS, Ted Nugent etc. Places like the Agora Ballroom, and Uncle Tom's cabin were venues to see these bands. Of course the Fox Theater. I had a lot of band in as we were near the venue and hotels and they were one of the groups I really remember to this day.
