"So Into You" is a song by the Atlanta Rhythm Section, released in 1977. It's one of their most popular tracks, featuring a smooth blend of soft rock and pop elements. The song's lyrics express deep feelings of love and attraction, making it a favorite among fans of the genre.
Musically, it showcases the band's signature melodic style, characterized by lush harmonies and a catchy chorus. The track is notable for its laid-back vibe and melodic guitar work, typical of the era's sound. "So Into You" became a commercial success, reaching the top of the charts and solidifying the Atlanta Rhythm Section's place in the soft rock scene of the late 1970s. Its enduring appeal has kept it a staple on classic rock radio stations.

For real -- this is the AM radio single version. The album version goes on another 2 minutes or so and features some kick-ass guitar work. If you ever get back to it, listen to the longer version. Also check out "Imaginary Lovers," another big ARS hit.

Put the full version on your playlist. If you listen to the album version, you get an excellent solo near the end that is worth a re-listen. I would suggest "Champagne Jam" by them for a different style and unreal bass line and solo and the song "Doraville" for just a cool groove. One of my favorite go to groups.

When the Atlanta Rhythm Section song "Imaginary Lover" came out, it was discovered that if you sped up the turntable, the vocals sounded like Stevie Nicks. These days you can do the same with pitch shifting, without having to speed up the whole song. (Example on Y.T.)

I had these gentlemen in my restaurant when they were on tour and this song was out. They were very nice to my staff and sat and talked with me for quite a while. I had a lot of band in as we were near the venue and hotels and they were one of the groups I really remember to this day. To be fair, most of the bands were really nice and willing to give out autographs with my staff. No phones in those days to take selfies, but there are a few polaroid's around.

Big Man was on the bass, bro. I saw that little smirk on Olli's face when the bassist got his camera moment. This song was so ubiquitous (and still is) on classic rock radio that I 100% thought you guys were going to go "Ohhhhh I've heard this song before..." And then Corey would say "I know that riff. I know that riff! But I've only ever heard bits and pieces, never the whole thing!"

Back in the 70's Atlanta and the area around Atlanta were a hotbed of rock and southern rock. On any weekend you could catch Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, ARS, Ted Nugent etc. Places like the Agora Ballroom, and Uncle Tom's cabin were venues to see these bands. Of course the Fox Theater. Good times for $7.00

ARS is a great band from the 1970s. Unfortunately you reacted to an abbreviated version of this song. There is an incredible guitar solo that is absolutely fire in the longer version. Do yourself a favor and listen to the longer version. Halloween is around the corner. So you should react to their song Spooky.
