Well, recreational cycling is nice and all that but I want to tool around town(s) for transportation purposes: to do errands, hang out at cafes & bars, get in some light shopping, etc. Protected bike lanes are necessary too.

Thank you Tim! This is an awesome summary and recap! We appreciate your perspective! We love biking as much as you do and can totally relate to how nice it is to bike around town.

I appreciate the reviews, the Arabia Mountain Trail looks like a great ride.

Be warned, Arabia Mountain is a great ride. However, it is not an easy ride. Lots of hills and twists. It can be fun, but if not careful it can be dangerous, if you're riding too fast going down hill then an unexpected sharp turn.

I'd love to try any of these! I have a new e-bike for those hills as well. I might take you up on leading me around one of these paths!

On these longer trails (such as the one that goes to Alabama), is it possible to sleep in a hammock in the woods? Some of them seem too long to do in one day.

There is a campground along the Silver Comet trail.

Hey Tim, I live south of Atlanta and want to ride the silver comet trail. Would love to talk to you and ask a few questions if possible.
