After having the Cape Horn 27 for a year now, I know why they’re a bit more pricy. The ride is incredible in snotty seas and it’s a very very dry ride. It doesn’t slam at all and everything is really solid. Overall a great boat and serious upgrade from the scout.

Paul, the various thicknesses of the fiberglass, how it is cured, shape of the hulls for displacement in sloppy weather, stringer designs, fuel tank placement, floatation density and horsepower are just a few things that separate boats. Take one out in the slop and then climb on the same size Edgewater, Everglades or Grady White and then you will see why some go for 100k and others go for 250k.

I have a sea hunt 255SE that just showed up at the dealer, waiting on the engine still. It’s a 22 model year and I paid $120K out the door, tax, registration and trailer. It’s essentially the same as the gamefish series but only a single engine and wrap around rear seating instead of the flip up/down rear seating.

Isn’t the SE Series the Bay Model? I think deadrise is different too, no?
@redman27512 жыл бұрын
@@jiggingjerks not a bay model. It’s a deep V but you are right there some slight differences between the hulls. The transom dead rise on the GF25 is 21 and the 255SE is 18 midship on GF25 is 24 and that’s the same and the entry on the GF25 is 60 and the 255SE is 55. The true length on the GF25 is 26’ where the 255 is 24’11” and the beam on the GF25 is 9’2” vs 8’9” on the 255. The GF25 has 144 gallon fuel tank vs the 120 in the 255. I actually put a deposit on a Yamaha 252 fsh at that boat show however after hearing from other people who have just received their boats, quality control seems to be a huge issue.
