What's up Nu Yawkers? Today I am in Atlantic City just off the boardwalk to give you guys a walking tour around the neighborhood of Duck Town! Duck Town is several square blocks between Caesars and the Tropicana. It's loaded with a lot of diverse restaurants and shops. Join me on the tree-lined streets of this area on a beautiful day! I'm surprised more people don't call Atlantic City home. I use to think AC was this huge city with 300k people. but when I googled AC, I was shocked to see they only got 35k people living there.

I think you can walk it in a day; Boston's like that, too. I thought about moving there from New York City, because I liked the nightclubs and I liked going out dancing, but that was about the year 2000, and the nightclubs closed down; somehow I think being online, the cell phone, dating websites, etc., have changed the nightclub scene quite a bit and it's a strain to find a nightclub today where you can go out dancing here in New York City, which is really a shame. There are a couple, but where going out to meet someone and hook up was the way they used to do it, it is now left to 'going online.'

@@richardsanty9063 I somehow figured how to do it, when I was making less money than I am now; they just don't exist anymore. I lived during the Palladium, Limelight, Club USA (where Marky Mark got his start) & there were drugs involved, adding to the costs. Now it's rare 'dance night out' that is advertised.

Was down there on Sun. Mem day wknd. It was hopping! Great job of Resorts painting something over the front of the building that was damaged by the fire. The Landshark bar was packed. And the 99cents store was open for business after that fire. Heard alot of music from the beachbar by Ballys as well. Very impressed! 😊

What did Resorts paint over the fire, do you know? I guess with the beach ball drop; when was that Friday?, it would have been an eyesore and talked about if they just left it damaged.

Really enjoyed learning some history of Ducktown. Dock's is often a destination on my AC visits. Have a few new places to check out! Always looking for a new breakfast place. I'll have to give Maria's a try. Bungalow on the boardwalk is a great sunny morning breakfast spot.

I love the idea of them leaning into the neighborhood names. Simplifies and gives you good reference points when discussing the town. I'm sure your followers appreciate it. Up until the mid 90s there still were a great number of Italians from South Philly who still owned vacation homes. I spent my younger years in Brigantine but at about 18 I graduated to hanging out in AC. That's were all the action was!

I was there Mother's Day and Memorial Day weekend. That is definitely my home away from home of NY. I stay at Ocean my Hotel of choice and it's so relaxing. AC is so much more than gambling. It's a lot for family of all ages to do. I just wish they would concentrate a little more on the area off the broadwalk.

Ducktown doesn't start until your actually on Pacific Ave., the boardwalk block doesn't count, between Texas and Missouri ave. is correct. Ducktown Tavern is ok but it's fairly new(16 years), if you want real old school AC/Ducktown then Angelo's Fairmount Tavern (since 1935) is a much better choice. Dock's is for the "rich folks" and tourists, most AC families can't afford the place. The Noyes Museum has been in Galloway since the 80's the Art Garage is a welcome addition to the city and is relatively new opening in 2013, and is pronounced like "noise". Another great video showing off my hometown.

Hey Jeff just left AC and had a wonderful visit 7 days and thanks to your video I ate at RESORTS and breakfast at Gilchrist and just as you advised the food and service was perfect!!! Great job with this video, my next visit i will check it out. I have a question for you or our family of the Nu Yawk channel. When I was walking the BW OF AC I notice a closed store Ocean Club @ Accessories llc????is something happening there I notice some construction and other things...

Actually, it just hit me which building you are talking about Mike. That's The Ocean Club. They are reinforcing the balconies since there was a structural issue a year or two ago.
