such a classy move by Levon introducing all the members of the band despite the question from brian williams.

Right!! Most people probably didn't pick up on that but I noticed it right away. Obv people know Garth and Danko but levon is so modest and such a real genuine human that he included all.

I thot robbie Roberson was the founding member of the band
@beckyfinch66283 жыл бұрын
@@srgaither2117 this has been an on going question... But yes Robbie Robertson was the brains behind The Band and wrote several of their hit songs!! But it was Levon Helm and Rick Danko that made the music and did all the singing that made people like me ' love this band '! Then they became Bob Dylan's band for a while and that just shot them into stardom!!!! But Robbie was kinda the silent guy in the background ( except when he was ripping on that guitar) that made most of the decisions I do believe!!!!! Hope I answered your question!!!!

Rick Danko was the quiet explosion in The Band!!!! If you know what I mean!!! His voice was so unique and people thought that it was Levon singing on certain songs, when in fact it was Danko!!!! His best voice is 'IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE'... MY FAVORITE BAND SONG OF ALL TIME!!!!!! But I love it all just the same!! Wish we could all go back in time and just lose ourselves in this GREAT music that is THE BAND!!!! RIP to all members who have passed!!! Again.... What a BAND there must be in heaven!!! When I meet my maker at the Pearly Gates I can only hope that the music plays on!!!!!!!!!!!✌️☮️✌️☮️✌️💕💖

I remember hearing he died through the radio on my way to school, I cried. I was only in 10th grade and my dad asked me why I cared. I sat all day through school asking myself “why do I care?”. I got home and played a record I had bought with my 5$ allowance one day, I believe it was music from big pink. As soon as I heard Levon’s voice I cried again. And after I stopped crying I was left singing with a smile on my face.I cried because I wasn’t cool, I wasn’t popular, I wasn’t anyone. But when I listened to Levon I felt I was. I begged my parents to take me to love for Levon but we just couldn’t afford it at the time :/ but that’s alright, I still remember being in 10th grade and feeling like hot shit when I listened to the band.

I got to see the band a few times, but one concert at the now long gone "Mill Run" theater in the Chicago burbs ( it had a slowly rotating stage in the center of the seating area) was truly memorable. I don't remember the whole set, and only Robbie was missing from the group then, but they played "Acadian Driftwood" and I was just mesmerized as they played and passed the vocals on from Levon to Rick to Richard. And although it wasn't them playing it, years later I saw a bluegrass band at a beach bar in FL, that went into about a 3 or four minute lead in, and then broke out into "Atlantic City" and I freaked out with enjoyment. A truly talented band, the likes of which won't be seen again.
