My favorite thing in your tackle box was the Wispa. I have to travel from Chicago to Tinley Park IL to Winston's deli in an overly populated Irish neighborhood to buy them as well as black pudding and other comforts from home then put them in a cooler, otherwise they will melt in my pickup at 95 Fahrenheit. I caught a 6-pound flathead catfish on the Kankakee River two weeks ago with a rotten chicken liver when the river was low, it's too hot right now to go fishing this weekend. I'm Coming home for a visit at the start of September might catch you on Ballyheigue strand fishing for Bass. Gar are a freshwater fish here in the states.

I believe its a bit exciting in Chicago at the moment with the Tornado warnings ⚠️. What are the fishing shops like around there? I've been to the Bass pro (Gurney Mills I think) near the city but unfortunately I wasn't allowed fill a 2nd trolley

@@Inshore_Angler My Neighborhood Mt Greenwood wasn't too bad, heavy rain 75 mph winds and frequent lightning strikes, most of the damage was up in the northern part of the city. most tackle stores here are by the state pk's and forest preserves.

Fantastic video really enjoyed it. Would it be worth having a quick chat about the rod and reels that you use on the day and the reasons behind it? I’d like to know and it may help the less experienced anglers that may be tuning in. Keep up the good work 👌👊
@Inshore_Angler5 жыл бұрын
Ya it's definitely something I can work into the videos. I don't like to make it look like you have to have the best rods and reels tho to have fish. Quality of bait and rigs in the right area is the key to catching
@jamesrobertson99305 жыл бұрын
Chris O'Sullivan, The Inshore Angler fully agree. I was thinking more of the type of rods and reels for different type of ground, distance, scenarios etc.
@Inshore_Angler5 жыл бұрын

Nice vid buddy. How did the people in the preferred pegs do by comparison. Did they produce?
@Inshore_Angler5 жыл бұрын
Some of the ones I'd of been very happy to get didn't. 6 dogs I think was the best score. It doesn't seem like much but at 60pts per fish they are way out of sight gars are about 13pts each so you have to play smart

The prep work for these tournaments is crazy. I will never be enough of a morning person to compete. I can fish but not with intelligence early in the morning.
@Inshore_Angler5 жыл бұрын
Lol the prep has to be done in the days before. I have stayed up real late preparing everything and then was too wrecked to think when I got to the comp. Some lads are still drunk at the smaller comps or really hungover lol
@PondsSoloFishing5 жыл бұрын
@@Inshore_Angler this is why I prefer adventure or bank fishing... no boat so I can drink while I fish. Nothing like being drunk and lost in a forest.
