Even if Kamara joining, United still need to sign someone like Tchouameni or Sangare. United can't just rely on 1 player, imagine if Kamara injured, who is going to replace him? I don't trust McFred. I think United should sell both of them and use the money to sign better players.

@@iwillfollowyou7395 McFred are quite good as squad players, I absolutely would trust them on the bench behind De Jong and Kamara because that's their level, that's where they should be for a side like United. Tchouameni would be great instead of Kamara, but he's going to cost a fortune and I doubt he'd choose United over Real or Liverpool if they're after him like what's being reported right now. Sangare's good, but again, clubs as big as United with Champions League games next year are interested, I'd be surprised to see him choose United. That's not even factoring in that United supposedly also want an attacker and two defenders this window as well, I don't think anymore than 2 midfielders are realistic when they're trying to patch holes all over. Don't forget about James Garner either, I bet you that he's used as the holding midfielder off the bench when they need to rotate Kamara or whoever they get to play that role this summer.

If Kamara gets injured McTom has to pull his weight, or Garner. We have too many other holes to plug up to be thinking about adding backup players also at this point. First we need to sort out all the positions where we need new starters. The one position where I think we need the backup ASAP is the #9 position. We need someone to take turns with Ronaldo up top for this season. We need starters for CF, RW or LW, CM, DM, CB, RB and/or LB. I think we should get those before we get backup players.

@@SpartanB269 There are only few clubs that as big as United. Real might go after Tchouameni but not Sangare, plus both Madrid and Liverpool already have holding midfielder. Only a foolish player would go there especially if they are young because the playing time will be limited and hinder their progress. Only United can offer maximum playing time which is good for their development. I think Ten Hag's priority right now is to sort up the midfield. He will sell few players to fund the transfer too. We will see.

Kamara is on a free transfer, Touchameni would be 60m so buying him and De Jong would be hard this summer. So selling McTominay or Fred would be ideal... i would prefer Fred to stay tho. Donny is coming back, Garner also coming back... it would be a good selection of midfield Kamara, Fred, De Jong, Bruno, Donny & Garner.

For me Fabian Ruiz is very underrated and seems like the best option alongside tielemans I think tielemans has the prem experience and would be a buyable player currently at Leicester, Fabian Ruiz looks great with his ball winning being good, tall strong which will help him adapt to the prem and his passing and dribbling combined makes him a complete midfielder who can create in deeper or higher up the pitch when required

It would be hard to expect another expensive signing since no Champions League next season. De Jong and Bellingham would be logical options for the 23/24 if United succeed to secure position in champions league of course. De jong would shorten the process of transforming Man Utd, having his own star player who can translate and Lead as an example, getting de jong is no brainer, this is an exception i would make for player price. Think about it, first day of pre season, ten haag with his midfied general , setting the example, leading the way. Man utd can , add in players after the next window, after accessing this season, on which player would suit his tactic next, man utd supporter should lower their expectation this season, because ten haag need to access the player abilty and team levels in the premier league.. this should take at least 3 windows. Trust in the process, De jong is a must for his first steps. ✌✌

Have to disagree. Some of these roaming midfielders are not really one thing or another. De Jong is a specialist in his department. Utd have Fernández as another attacking midfielder, what they need to compliment deJong is a specialist defensive midfielder, someone like Sangare who can tidy up in midfield and provide excellent defensive cover to the none too solid MU defence.
