This built was epic from start to finish! I loved seeing both you and Brian work on the project. The finish result is a jewel to see, even more precious because it holds water in this quite raw and dry land, which now brings a bigger variety of plants and therefore wildlife. To this day I cannot grasp why this channel hasn't 1M subscribers (and more) yet. Every project is a work of art, every single AWG crew is so hard working, masters at their job and funny too. And every one of those videos are beautifully filmed and edited... Great great great job. Thank you for making us all dream every time!

That sits so well in the landscape, well done to all involved in creating this masterpiece. Was that built in natural gully, if so, what happens to groundwater?
@AtlantisWaterGardens Жыл бұрын
Great question! Yes, it was an existing gully. Under drains were installed and daylighted to prevent hydrostatic pressure problems 👍
@southernrainforest Жыл бұрын
Thanks Jaak, really appreciate your answer and that is one amazing feature. I want to restore rainforest gullies, is there anyway to create a lined gully pond like this, but have the winter runoff, flush the pond out in high rainfall events, then when gully stops flowing you switch on pumps to keep water moving. You could mass plant with grasses above the feature to filter out most sediment. Haven’t seen anyone do it, but have you done that or do you know anyone who has. Thanks again for your time and sharing these amazing features. Brett

Seven figures pond: PVC ball valves
@AtlantisWaterGardens Жыл бұрын
Yup.
@oregonsbragia Жыл бұрын
@@AtlantisWaterGardens maybe you know of a better quality valve than is supplied in my hardware store, but in my work with irrigation, I have not had a great experience with the large PVC valves. They can work great for a few years , however, over time, and especially when exposed to heat, cold, and Ultraviolet, they become very stiff and hard to turn, and the handles break off or the middle piece that holds it together pops out, and or breaks. From now on I will only install brass valves for anything over 1.25” pipe. I would think that for this kind of investment the owner would only use the best option. I think he will have you out to replace them within a couple of years.

@@clausjensen5109 no need, just the homeowners preference.
@oregonsbragia Жыл бұрын
@@clausjensen5109 the pond dye is most often used when the large pond has no shade to reduce algae growth. It makes the water darker which is kind of like adding shade. I believe that he said that this is Southern California. So very hot, and a lot of sun all year. I’m not a fan of the look either. It reminds me of 2000 flushes toilet bowl, or a port o’potty. The pond is incredible though.
