I seriously dont get why no one can make a 2011 sub 1k. How many 1911's sub 1k are good performers? It's definitely doable.

@@christsang9728 There is at least one, made by Girsan. The reviews do not seem half bad. Cosaint Arms CP series also has made one but you have to research that one. There will be a bunch coming out soon. I love the Stuccato but my wife would divorce me if I bought one !!!!! LMAO 🙂

How many 2011 guns are there now in ghe $3,500 to $6,000 price range ? How much better are they than a $1,000 Rock Island Tac Ultra, Prodigy or a Stealth Platypus ?

Rock island is definitely the high point of the double stack 1911 space. But with platypus, oracle and the prodigy the ability to get into the 2011 style pistol is much easier which is awesome.

I have tested alot of different guns, these 3-6,000+ 2011's are not worth the price of admission. My glocks and sigs do 95-99% of what my staccato and atlas did. Would I rather have the 1911 style trigger and ergos / build quality, sure thing.. is it 5-6x the price better in performance, lol... no. imho the gun community is becoming gross like many others, dudes with x10 2011's that cost 5-6k each, like go do some charity. decadence, gluttony and greed beyond belief. and I have owned 100k worth of various arms. speaking from experience.

Lots of folks like the different size safeties for the sides. While at matches, Ive noticed many folks contour the support side safety so as not to pinch or "dent" that index finger knuckle with the high grip we all use. Its nice to find a manufacturer that does this and now a well-known manufacturer of fully machined safeties will give you a smaller paddle for the support side rather than make you cut it down. Apples and oranges. This gun is a better slide to frame fit, its heavier and a much better trigger. This is a fitted pistol compared to a production pistol. The recoil impulse is different as well because its an all metal gun. Down for most including me is the price tag. So having a Stacatto is a great entry into 2011’s.

@@marcusjohnson5839 its hard to rework a production pistol. The material is no longer there. You can play with springs, add a new aluminum grip module. But at the end of the day the the slide to frame fit as well as the fitment the parts just won’t be there. The money is better off spent on a new pistol.

Nice video, thanks. I'm selling my Hyperion to buy a Nyx RDS with RMR. I agree with you on the carry ambidextrous safeties. Can't wait to get my hands on it. I'm sure it'll shoot snappier than my Titan RDS but I expect it'll make a great, scaled down duty gun for OWB carry.

I like the weight of the nyx over the athena. Can’t compare it to the ares. Two totally different guns.

@@hunterbraverman2329 i feel its close. The nyx is faster because of the trigger. But the ares may be a little flatter due to the integrated porting. But i feel i have a little more control because of the palm swell. If i was buying my own it would be the nyx.

This is not a carry gun. If you want a gun that is actually a great double stack 1911 carry pistol, look at the Bul Armory Ultralight and UL Comp.

This may NOT be a carry gun for you! But the owner this pistol has carried as a carry gun, and i know of some others who have done so as well. They also have the Ares, which is a similar 2011 from AGW. Bul armory is is an option, but access to the pistol, the proprietary mag’s are a non starter for me personally. Most people who want to carry a 3-3.5”’2011 are going to opt for the Stacatto CS 9/10 times. 🤙

@@rdrgear Atlas magazines actually work in Bul SAS II guns. This gun is just too large to be a good IWB carry gun, IMO. I'm 6'2", 200 lbs, and have hands large enough to palm a basketball, but I wouldn't carry something this large. Bul Armory SAS II gun availability is an issue, but being difficult to get isn't a good reason to rule out a gun. The Staccato CS is a great gun, but the Bul is just as good, and cheaper. But cost isn't my reason either, I own multiple handguns that I purchased for over $5000. I can, and will, pay a lot for a gun if it's worth it. This gun just fits in a space where it is too small to be the best shooting 2011, and too large to be the best EDC. And being "good enough" at both doesn't do it for me.
