So what they learned about CZ when they were 20 is that they were controlled by the “damn commies,” not knowing that that condition wasn’t a intentional choice by the Czech people. But no matter. CZ, being a “commie gun” doesn’t appear on their radar as anything worth considering, or reconsidering. This rigidity of thinking/opinion is all too common.

I can understand your feelings about Glock. Glock is a firearm that you either love or hate. I get that. I own 7 Glocks, and they work for me right out of box. At the same time, I don't recommend them as the best choice. I recommend what will fit the shooter's hands, and what they hit the best with. I also have a Beretta 92FS, a variety of S&W's (striker & hammer fire autos), and a collection of Ruger P series pistols from the 90's. I shoot all of them well. But I lean towards my Glocks like you do the 1911 platform. It's all subjective. I really do enjoy these videos, and I enjoy hearing both opinions and experiences from you gentlemen!

I was a bit surprised to hear of Bill's dislike of Glock pistols. Not every gun is compatible with every shooter, and that is okay I suppose. I knew of his long standing preference for Berettas and his own company's guns, and that is fine. But I'll take the opposite position based on my own experience with the Glocks I own and have owned in the past. That position is that the Glock, when left alone and used for its original intended purpose is quite a tool. That purpose is to be able to score anatomically relevant hits on a human target out to any reasonable handgun distance, and to do so reliably with a minimum of maintenance. I have two Gen 3 Glock 19's that I have had for years, and carried both on and off duty in my professional life. I assure you that I have no difficulty scoring head shot hits on an IDPA target at 25 yards with either one of them when loaded with good ammunition. The only modification I have made to either of them was to install Trijicon HD sights. I have had similar experiences with the Glock 26, the Glock 17, and even the Glock 23 and Glock 30 when I carried them. Torso hits at 50 yards should not be a chore with any of these models. My current pocket gun is the Glock 42, and I find it to be plenty accurate for its intended purpose as well. I'm the same age as Bill, so I understand what can happen with eyesight at our age. I have no doubt that Bill Wilson is being honest when he says he cannot shoot Glocks very well. They are not for everyone, and nobody has to like everything. But to me a Glock pistol is simply a work tool, and aside from installing sturdier sights, they are probably better when left alone. I don't think there are widespread accuracy problems with factory spec Glocks, as evidenced by dozens of videos online showing them being shot successfully at long range.

@rodgerbooth10642 жыл бұрын
@@P_Petkov A hot load would be a "+P" load, Very high pressure and speed. Some guns are made for it and some not. You should check the owner's manual and the stamping on the barrel. Magnum Cartridges are also an example. If you are not sure use a standard velocity load. Google is also a good source of information. A "Hot Reload" is usually when a double charge has entered the casing. A double charge. One inadvertently loaded the powder twice! Example, A 9mm normal Load of 5.1 GR of Hodgdon CFE has been charged twice equalling 10.2 GR. Or the wrong powder is used.. Let's say a Rifle Powder in a Pistol Case! If you are going to reload get yourself a good Reloading Manual! $35.oo

I have to agree. They are decent guns and were state of the art 30 years ago, but out of the box they are quite dated compared to what else is out there today. The next generation of Glocks NEEDS to have decent steel sights, a good trigger and a grip that doesn't feel like holding something made out of Lego bricks. And that's just so it can remain competitive with the rest of the market. Unfortunately they continue to sell by the boatloads for no other reason than they have the word GLOCK on the side. Sure they're reliable, but so are all the other modern pistols out there.

Pretty sure 'peak Glock' was the Gen3 G19 (c. 1998) adopted by the US Navy SEALs in 2015. Later generations added unnecessary features that harmed reliability (dual recoil spring is more likely to cause stoppages if dust, dirt, sand or mud gets inside the pistol) and robustness (removable backstrap), while the oversized mag release increases the incidence of accidental mag dumps. Plenty accurate IMO, though one can always waste money buying a match barrel that likely decreases reliability in adverse conditions due to tighter tolerances.

I have tried and tried to like Glocks. The only one I've ever liked is the Glock 40 because it's a big behemoth of a firearm and shoots 10mm which is always fun to shoot. My EDC gun is a Shadow Systems MR920 (Glock 19 clone). It uses Glock mags and Glock holsters and a Glock operating system...so it's easy to find accessories for. It has a great optics mounting system too, best I've ever used. I'm mostly a hammer fired fan, just like them better. Personal choice. But my striker fired gun of choice is the P320 because of it's modularity. I have one FCU, but I have 4 grip modules, three barrels, two slides, and all the configurations fit in the same holster. I wish the optic cut on the Pro slide worked with more than two optics. I prefer my Halosun to the Romeo One Pro. But it's nice to have multiple "guns" that all have the same trigger pull.

I would half to agree glock is inaccurate at longer ranges love the reliability but 20+ yards and that spread just opens up. Even with aftermarket triggers and sights with performance barrels upgrades you can get something more accurate right out of the box and not have to do the upgrades like you would a glock.

Happy to see Bill likes Beretta 92. It's affordable, safe, accurate and reliable. Only drawback is hard to carry concealed!

With all due respect to your experience and knowledge Mr. Wilson come on Stock barrels in Glocks inaccurate and you can’t make a headshot at 15 yards. I respectfully call BS. I’m no Glock fan and before the Gen-5 models they were adequate but not overly accurate, but still grouped under 4 inches at 25 yards. The newer Gen-5 with the Marksman Barrels and improved lockup tolerances I’ve seen groups under 3 inches ransom rested at 25 yards. In practical application I have absolutely no problem with stock Glock accuracy at 25 yards and I hate plastic fantastic striker fired guns lol.

Sample size: 1 The gen 5 Glock 17 I was issued is the least accurate of all my handguns. I didnt see any improvement with that "marksman" barrel with duty ammo nor with 124gr ball in training and qualifications. No one in the agency scored any better with Gen 5 than Gen 3...the biggest factor is the person, next to that is not having factory glock sights. Since every agency is cheap, there's anither $100 of personal money for anyone that takes a duty weapon seriously...but most people dont realize most dont care. Its just a tool. I suppose if we all sat at a bench we might get miraculous groups, but for qualification course it's not been an improvement at all over previous gens, nor over comparable competition, like the M&P. I like not having the stupid finger grooves though, and the trigger is at least very consistent...but then again the best shooters in the entire dept use DA/SA guns still.

There are guns that are in the $400-$500 range that are very good guns. You don't have to spend $3,000 + for a "quality" gun. Most guns are accurate within 30 feet (roughly 10 meters), which is where most self-defense shootings happen.

@Kevin Hillier Hickock 45 made a video comparing a $400 1911 with a $3,000 one. The difference does not justify the much higher cost. But then again, people who have money to spend can do what the hell ever they want to do with it, but calling a $400-$500 gun "garbage" is just pure ignorance.
@lancecahill54863 жыл бұрын
@Kevin Hillier Most people don't compete and shoot 20,000 rounds. Nowadays, it's lucky if you can find 200 rounds at a reasonable price. The point is for most people a $400-$500 gun is adequate for self protection and home defense. When you have to fire at close range, you don't really need a $3,000 gun to do the job. You only need it to show off at the gun range and to brag to your buddies.

Thank you for this video I do not doubt that the EDC X9 is an outstanding pistol. And I do not expect anything else from a $4000 firearm designed and made by very fine craftsmen. On the other hand, everyone cannot spend this amount of money on a handgun. And, regardless of wether one likes it or not, the Glock 17 is way better than what is described here. Where I live, it is used in traditional "service" (military) competitions at 50 meters (54.7 yards) against the traditional SIG P210. Using a G17 did not keep excellent shooters from winning against all the shooters using a P210. Metallic sights (less than $40 from factory) are useful. A "minus" connector (less than $10 from factory) helps too. A tiny little bit of polishing by a very competent gunsmith is also helpful. But the rest is only work. And some proved that it is possible to outshoot the P210 with a Glock 17 at 50 meters.....

Does anyone know if Bill Wilson has ever talked about why he favors the Beretta 92G SD over the 92FS? I don't know much differences myself.
@wizardofahhhs7593 жыл бұрын
Yes there's a video on it.
@John19113 жыл бұрын
The general problem with the 92 is the slide mounted safety. During manipulations of the slide, it is very common to “accidentally” put the gun on safe. I.e. a dead trigger. Pressed out for a committed shot sucks when that happens. The G models convert the safety to just a decoder. So worst case on the previous example is a DA trigger pull. Hope this helps.
@geico19753 жыл бұрын
@@John1911 YES! It absolutely helps, thanks. I didn't know the safety mechanisms were different. Full-disclosure, I was mainly curious because I've always wanted a 92fs, but when I learned about the G SD, I thought maybe I want that one:) HA! I don't mind the safety personally, just shoot for fun mostly, so I'm still leaning 92fs:)
@John19113 жыл бұрын
@@geico1975 if you want the military format, get the F not the G. But for serious use by CCW people, they tend to favor the G. Also…you CAN retrofit to a G at a later date. Wilson or Langdon can both handle that easily. Glad I could help! Regards, Marky

Bill, I know your company manufactures some of the best firearms in the world. Candidly, my issue is price. I am not looking for you to make a $450.00 equivalent of a compact 9mm (barrel 3.25" to 3.6" barrel size and up to 10 rounds). But for us guys that want a better EDC 9mm like your SFX9mm 3.25" or Experior Sub-Compact 3.5" a price of $2,795.00 or $3,990.00 is just not attainable. Have you thought about and if not would you consider manufacturing a firearm similar to the SFX9 or Experior Sub-Compact but more in a more affordable price range like ($1,350.00 to $1500.00) and if not would you explain the barriers you encounter in doing so?
