I'm trying to decide on the Nyx & the Hyperion. What light are you running on your Nyx? It appears to be a perfect flush fit with the barrel. The main thing that I don't like about the Hyperion is that it's not optics ready

So I have been exactly where you are! And if you check out skipZ guns or something like that on KZbin you’ll see he has a optics ready Hyperion !!! So I didn’t check into because I know it will most likely be Atlas Saying they can make you one but it will take 90 days but if I could get another one I’d call Atlas and order a optics ready Hyperion because I think it’s the best looking gun on earth ! But the NYX V2 optics ready is definitely A close 2nd in my opinion it’s so beautiful and perfect !!! And it’s worth every single last penny !!! I seriously mean that I don’t like rubbing it in peoples faces because I know it’s simply unrealistic for most people but to me it’s the price of 5 handguns and it’s better than 50 handguns! I carry my Nyx everyday and I love shooting it, the 4.25 inch is perfect but I’d imagine the 4.6 inch Hyperion wouldn’t be any different. I run a 1 moa RMR because it’s sincerely the best fit on the Nyx in my opinion but they designed the optics plate to accommodate the Trijicon SRO ( allot of optics cuts are so close to the breach the SRO gets pounded by ejected casings) and the light is the Holoson P.I.D. But the Pid doesn’t fit flush out of the box and the Stream Light TLR-1 and copy cat lights don’t fit Atlas guns because it doesn’t fit in the atlas Rail spaces are slimmer than a 1913 pin rail so keep that in mind. But with some modifications to the Holoson PID you can get it to fit flush as you seen on mine ( I’m a bit OCD so I needed it to be flush and I think it looks amazing flush) it’s pretty easy you just grind the plastic piece that engages the atlas rail and you take a little bit of aluminum material off of the Holoson housing where it touches the atlas trigger guard until it sits flush (the plastic piece and the aluminum housing are what prevents a flush fit the aluminum housing makes contact with the trigger guard preventing a flush fit and the plastic piece that’s to prevent it from moving forward under recoil also prevents it from being mounted flush so you just take some of that material off to accomplish a flush fit)

@@americantrucker9813 I appreciate the quick response and on point info. Are the Nyx and G19 Gen 4 about the same size? The G19 has been my go-to for years now. I own the Staccato P & HC. They're solid guns and aren't dirt cheap either. However, I want to step things up a notch. That's why I'm doing my research prior to making a purchase. Because I've got a feeling one Atlas might not be enough

Your very welcome and as far as size I’d say the Nyx is more comparable to a Glock 17 the slide is in fact a bit smaller than a Glock 17 closer to a Glock 19 but because of the Hammer and the beaver tail it’s actually 1/4 inch longer than a Glock 17 if you measure the beaver tail. I don’t like compact handguns and that’s just a personal preference I conceal carry everywhere I go and sometimes I open carry and because I appendix carry when concealed I have No issues concealing my NYX and some of the reasons I like a full size gun is number 1 when I go the range I love shooting my NYX and I’m my best with it so that’s what I want to carry and of course the capacity is great 18 rounds and 19 rounds with a flush fit magazine if you use the competition magazine follower ( it doesn’t lock back on empty) and the most important reason my hands are big and smaller guns are too small and don’t like shooting them. But I’d have to say to you if you like the G19 size than staccato C2 I believe might be there better choice. And if money is a factor than you can always buy a Springfield prodigy and buy an aluminum grip for it and tune it and it will be pretty much identical to the atlas Nyx as far as performance & reliability obviously not cosmetically. But if matter isn’t the factor and you think an Investment into an atlas is right for you than I’d recommend you most definitely get one I know you won’t regret it or at least I don’t so I can’t imagine you would. I don’t shoot my Glocks or striker fired gun anymore because the way my 2011s shoot is so measurably better, the trigger, the recoil, muzzle flip, and accuracy (my accuracy) that shooting my 2011s is just way more fun but all of this is just my opinions and at the end of the day you should do whatever it is you want because In the end it’s your Money, time, and Life and you’ll be the one living with it but I hope you give me an update on whatever you choose and if you need some help I’m here my friend!

@@americantrucker9813 Thanks for the comparison of the G17 & 19. That seems to be the fit I'm looking for. A blend of the two sizes should be right in the sweet spot for me. I have no reservations about paying for a quality firearm. Besides I get a discount being Retired Military. The Nyx RDS v2 is an awesome looking gun. I'm contacting Atlas this week to proceed further on my dream gun. I was hooked on polymers until I shot a few 2011s a couple of years ago. The grip, trigger pull, accuracy, and ease of shooting made switching over very easy. I'm selling a few of my other guns due to a lack of use. I'll probably use the money for another Atlas! Take care and thanks again for the spot on info

@@2008mastif your very welcome again ! No need to thank me at all brother that’s why I do this ! And just to let you know I bought my Atlas Nyx V2 RDS from Modern Warriors from Utah they didn’t charge me sales tax also so that was a huge plus but they have a cool website that shows they’re inventory they have a huge selection of Atlas Gun Works as well as other high end stuff and I definitely recommend them I called them up and ordered over the phone they created an online account for me and shipped my gun out 2 hours later ! It was as good as you could want it to be. And that was after I talked directly with Atlas to ask 100 questions and here’s off the top of my head what you might want to know. Atlas firearms have a 1 year Muzzle to Mag Well warranty ( Not LifeTime) after that they’ll service your gun for a not so cheap charge. They assured me if anything happens outside the warranty or whenever like if the Grip snaps In half or it needs a new barrel they’ll cover it in the first year and after they’ll repair and replace anything forever but for whatever the cost is. The only things wearing on my Nyx is the DLC coating has a few scratches obviously it’s my EDC you’ll have that and you can send it in to get sandblasted and re-coated whenever needed.

So what did you think? It looks like such a flat shooter !
@americantrucker9813

It is definitely a really great gun, but my honest opinion is close your eyes and forget cosmetics. It shoots exactly like The Prodigy with the aluminum grip because at the end of the day, it is exactly the same as a prodigy with an aluminum grip. The atlas uses EGW internals so throw a EGW ignition kit in and a Cheeky aluminum grip like mine and you’ll have an atlas for $2,200.00
@americantrucker9813
@americantrucker9813 2 жыл бұрын
But I will say this, you will end up having a prodigy that is worth less than what you paid even with all the upgrades unless you find somebody who will pay you a fair amount. Either way you’ll lose a good bit at least with the atlas that name so long as I don’t ruin it lol just kidding but the atlas will be worth around 4,000 so I lose 2,700 ……. Oh wait that doesn’t make any sense because even if you only got $1000 out of your prodigy, you’re only going to lose 1200 bucks vs my 2700. So there is absolutely no point here. Just don’t buy an atlas unless you really want it and don’t worry about what anybody else thinks! But I assure you if you don’t have the money to waste, you can get your prodigy, performing at the same exact level as the most expensive 2011’s out there

@@americantrucker9813 oh damn…I’m sure a few people will argue with that opinion lol! But either way, to say you own an atlas is still badass. Almost like being high class fancy😂. Good shooting tho bro and looking forward to more videos !

You’re probably right, but I have never been somebody that is fancy and I only appreciate brands that earn the admiration for being good to companies and I believe atlas is a great company and I was willing to support them. But at the same time, I know a lot of guys simply cannot and I don’t want any of them feeling like that high price gun is some hot shit and makes the owner better than them. We have all seen those people at the range that have they’re very expensive stuff and they act better than everybody else. Now I am not lumping him. Any good people who simply work hard to buy what they want, but thank you for watching, and there is definitely more to come! I’m currently trying to get my atlas palm swells that insert in their alpha grip but they don’t fit and apparently are going to require me fitting them.

@@americantrucker9813 I don’t own a Nyx but I own several mid-upper tier guns, like Staccato etc. I shot a buddies Nyx the other day and have shot a friends Artemis in the past. First time shooting I was putting rounds through the same hole over and over again. I’m not a great shooter but with Atlas I feel I don’t even have to do anything. The gun literally returns to the same spot after the first round. It’s almost strange. I can’t do that with my staccato p or others. Even my XC. It shoots way softer but I might be able to go faster with the Nyx because of that. That being said, it is a hard pill to swallow for $6k
