Atlas SD70 unbox Did they get it right? Mr. Muffins Trains preorder finally arrives

While both of these models are beautiful in person, I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts on no manufacturer modeling a correct (or even near-correct) version of the SD70Acu in O scale at this point. 210 of these units have been on the rails, but we still can't get an accurate model in O scale.

Love those military schemes. I was lucky enough to get the WWII mth model from the last MTH catalog. I think Lionel did the WWII scheme a year or so ago but the colors are just not at good as the original MTH premier. Anyway I love the 2 tone gray scheme after seeing it in your video. Atlas has done a great job with the CN. Great stuff.

Haha - well, we have to decide what is most important - keeping the trains on the track or 9’ circumference circles. O definitely eats up a lot of space

Another great review video. It's good to see engines of interest other than a pic from a catalog. And military trains are always welcomed. They go so well with military diecast vehicles. These look great. It’s good to see Atlas putting out locos again, even if they are MTH tooling, since they haven’t been able to produce many of their own in recent years. One of the coolest things about the Atlas / MTH locos is that they still are available in 2 rail! MTH doesn’t do 2 rail anymore, so this is good for people like me.

I have a friend that got two of the NS SD70M-2s in 2-rail. Glad you still have some options. Word is Atlas Master will be making a come-back in the near future with PS3 optionally onboard as well.

With as big as the actual layout is, a small layout probably wouldn't hold my interest, lol. I also find that my personality type has a difficult time doing anything on a small scale. I probably need to work on that haha!

I like the CP engine the best. It wouldn't bother me for being a little shorter. I really like the looks of it any way.

Thanks for your input, Rick. I wish it were the proper size, but I feel the look of the Atlas SD70ACe gives the right feel more than the Lionel version with the way-incorrect cab. Cheers!
