Well, Not quite sure to whom I'm addressing this too but, I thank you for taking the time make this video of the install of the Atlas throttle lock install. I'm thinking of it for my recently purchased 2020 NC750X DCT. So far, this looks like a very capable unit. I'm gonna have to give this a serious consideration. You've helped me to this point. Thank you. SR

Really good video... emjoyed a lot, thinking of buying one for my suzukigsxr1000r, but the space between the throttle housing and grip is very less so not sure if this will work.
@MotoPhotoAdventures
@MotoPhotoAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it! The space on the CB500X was really tight as well. I actually cut away some of the extra rubber from the grip. But I'm sure if you check their website or contact Atlas, they will tell you if it fits your GSXR. We just got back from a long trip and I am SO GLAD I had this thing!!!
@CasualRider.82
@CasualRider.82 2 жыл бұрын
@@MotoPhotoAdventures I already checked on Atlas website and the recommend top for for all GSXR-All cc. But I also read the gap should be min 3 bank cards which is not the case on my gsxr 1000 as hardly 2 bank cards fit. So I am not sure I want to spend such huge amount on something that will not work. Also I couldn’t find any video on KZbin from anyone putting it on the gsxr1000 …..
@MotoPhotoAdventures
@MotoPhotoAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
@@CasualRider.82 I understand your concern. Remember that almost all motorcycle grips are removable. For example, look at all the "heated grips" that are out there as replacements for the stock grips! So I'm sure there are ways to slide your grip further out to provide the necessary gap. If you don't want to attempt this, there are certainly several less expensive and less streamlined throttle locking mechanisms available. But if you want to order one and try it, I'm sure you can always return it to Atlas if it doesn't work out. Either way, I wish you good luck! It's not a necessity. But if you do longer rides like I do, it's nice to be able to relax and rest your right wrist every now and then.
@CasualRider.82
@CasualRider.82 2 жыл бұрын
@@MotoPhotoAdventures thanks I am in fact found a cheaper option. So May be I will buy that. Because I need it as we ride almost 350km over weekend as at the end of the ride wrist is almost numb :) so I need a good solution. Earlier I was using a clip as you were using but that’s just ok as it doesn’t maintain the speed just give your hand a little bit of resting space…..

That was a great video again. I have been looking at these for awhile, I have heated grips so mine would be there up one. I saw an Atlas instruction video that said that if your heated grip wires run from the top of the grip, then you need the bottom kit. If the wires run out of the bottom of your heated grips, then you need the top kit. 👍 Great video!!

I have had one on my Vstrom 650 for about 9 months, however I have not had the best luck with it. While it works great sitting still, on the road the vibration and bumps in the road will slowly let off the throttle. So while it holds, it will lose about 1-2 mph every 30-40 seconds unless the road is perfectly smooth. It just does not seem to want to stick on the plastic around my throttle. I have tried every combination of thickness on the pads and nothing really changes it. So it can help to remove my hand for a minute or so to relax or stretch it, or to adjust something on the bike or my gear using that hand, but cannot run with it for very long as it starts shaving the speed off. Going to try attaching some rubber to the contact point on the throttle, see if rubber to rubber will hold it better. While it helps, at least for me it was not worth the high cost so far, but will see what we can do as I would really enjoy having it for long flat sections (not very useful in the hills of course, so still need to keep hands on to adjust speed for them).

@@MotoPhotoAdventures little bike review or something on a day ride would be nice.. Or just a look .. I guess the bike has some ground clearance almost as the CB500X ..6.93"? Cruise control.. A nice adjustable wind screen.. Crash bars.. Shad luggage.. Slipper clutch. A couple modes to chose for rain or sport. Might be a nice starter adventure bike for the price. It's a KTM partner. Nice lights and brakes.

Just tried to mount a bottom unit on my 2022 MT07 and the throttle housing is too small in diameter for the pad to make any significant contact. Not sure if what I got was defective, but put it on and off 30+ times and simply did not work. Great concept, but they mislead riders on the models it works on.

@@MotoPhotoAdventures **Update: I do not know if mine was incorrect from the factory, or if it was damaged in shipping, but the packaging did not look to be damaged. The small ring was not inserted into the locking body of the device when I opened the package, and the "C" shape was too tight to come close to inserting when in my hand and could not get the locking teeth anywhere close to catching. I ended up placing the small ring in my vice and with large channel locks was able to adjust to where the devices finally fit and the ratchet mechanism worked. I then installed as directed, and was able to tighten it down and it works as advertised now. I am pretty sure the small locking ring was shipped from the factory with the incorrect diameter, as there was no possible was to insert the small ring as the curve was simply too small. I used it last Friday on a 200 mile trip and it worked flawlessly, and I was concerned because even when installed the friction pad placed at the highest point only made contact with 1/4 of the pad itself, but worked perfectly. Just hope no one else has to do what I did to get the product to work.

I mean no disrespect to you guys on this channel, but this is obviously an Atlas sponsored video. The reason I say this, is because Atlas doesn't provide easy to follow instructions with visual aid in the packaging of this $160 beauty. Apparently those instructions come with the $200 model. LOL. I have one, and darned near sent it back, because I was so POed at this fact. Thanks for the video, but let Atlas know that adding some pictures and step by step instructions would go a long way. These aren't what I'd call cheap.
