This functions more as a throttle lock than a cruise control. While it's helpful in regular road conditions, on slopes, you'll need to disengage the lock as it loses power. Unlike manufacturer-built cruise control which actively adjust throttle input and gear shifting to maintain a constant speed regardless of the slope. Love the idea though especially as it is built simple.

Dont get this model....my g. Its a real shitty design. I just ordered mine and it came in today...i messed with it and it just gave me hell and by the end of the day i still couldn't get it to work properly. The way that model is designed...its ment to bite into the plastic tube that your throttle turns on. Thus locking onto the metal bar and causes you to have a sticky like throttle.

If you dont tighten it enough it will have slack and wobble...if you tighten it to the point where it feels snug....you will have a sticky throttle. I went ahead and ordered a kaoko throttle lock... got way better hopes for that model vs this atlas one.

Now in an emergency stop instead of grabbing the front brakes as step 1, you will first have to roll the throttle back idle and then hit the front brakes and this extra movement will cost one a second and that one second could be crucial. I have seen other similar cruise controls that also have a lever that just touches the front brakes when open and when one just barely touches the front brakes, it will also move that lever back a hair and disconnect the cruise so no need in an emergency to do two steps. Now if I take my hands off the handlebars at highway speed I will be blown off the bike as I have to hang on to them at all times due to the wind trying to blow me off.

@@jamescolon1524 Actually after I wrote my comment, a few weeks later I went it looked at that cruise control again more closely and I was wrong as it will not do what it looked like. Also in an emergency stop, one will grab the clutch and the front and rear break at the same time even though the throttle is not back to idle as the clutch depressed will disengage the engine. Just more noise with the throttle still engaged.

True, but if you let go of the clutch, the bike will jump. No big deal, but I was hoping there was one that disengaged by pressing the brake without having to do the true electronic cruise control which is a much bigger job. Thanks for saving me search time.

@@jamescolon1524 I mean the clutch is pressed in the whole time with the emergency stop. I bought the Kaoko Throttle control. It is the best one out there and it looks natural and not like the Atlas sticking out. Now I bought an Amazon knock off of a Kaoko and it works perfect.

Yes, no scratches or blemishes so far. Also, no issue with it moving or disabling by itself.

The design and build quality is definitely a plus. Plus the fact that you can adjust when it's already set is a nice addition as well. But there may be some cheaper options out there that's just as good. which one specifically where you looking at?

Yes. Chinese copy works as good as original. Don't want to buy a brand - go for chinese. You can also ask Timon532, he installed chinese copy to his GS and it works perfectly. He's russian, but speaks english well so he can answer your questions, travels Australia.

It will maintain the speed just as if you were holding the throttle in place.

Of course no, it's not electronic. That thing just holds the throttle at the same place, but as you know, going uphill you need a bit more power, going down - less power so holding throttle at same position will result in different speed. How much different - depends on mass and power of your motorcycle. Should not be critical.
