As someone whos been apart of the community since its patreon beta, IM SO MAD THAT KISEFF REFUSES TO GET HELP FROM OTHER PEOPLE FOR THIS GAME. This game honestly invigorates me creatively, and hes spread himself soooooooooo thin due to working alone. Im honestly surprised he isnt burned out. the most ive been able to do in regards of help is suggest adding dread locs for the changs! (WHICH GOT IN AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA) but yeah this game is peak lol.

It's a shame, this game has something truly special going for it. With all the game copy sales, Kiseff could easily afford to bring on some helping hands to develop the game even if just short-term hires to develop content for individual updates where need be. Unfortunately the game looks like its slated for a few hours worth of content every yearly quarter at best (if we're lucky)... Hope to be proven wrong though.

i even offered to help out with my resources and such. even offered to do things voluntarily. there is a huge community that wantd to help and be team players for thew game since they love it that much. i sometimes dont understand why some devs (me speaking as a dev) are adamant on not having help when they have a treasure full of wonders

​@@ashemabahumat4173 full creative freedom isn't imposed upon if people are creating to Kiseff's vision with proper guidelines, which all studios have for their projects in a GDD. i totally get the solo dev incentive, but do worry for the frequency (and size) of updates. either way i still think ATLYSS is great and has been inspirational to a lot of people! ☺

@@Princemouse9 REALLY good spells. Also some high level equipment for the other classes as well. The whole area is amazing. I'm pretty sure that that autumn-vibes area we've been seeing is going to connect there, because there's a whole grove just off the path that matches the aesthetic.

The plus-shaped area (Gate of the Moon) is at present just empty and the shop is located in the only other location it links to, Wall of the Stars (see: archway with stars in the screenshot). it's got a waypoint beacon in the back so you may as well go there to grab that. It'll save you a little time getting to the new area if it links to the very similar looking area in gate of the moon. Tree of Trials also probably links directly to gate of the moon since there's also a giant tree with an empty portal in it.

i played this game for 30 hours and i genuinely didnt know this area existed, i always thought that the teleport pad just didnt do anything, and i never bothered to go check again since the only thing in that area thats worthwhile is the grove, and you can just teleport there anyway.

Hard disagree with most of the wishlist. New classes, new weapons, elements, etc... all that stuff is useless if we have nowhere to use them but the same two dungeons. The development priority should be first and foremost to expand explorable areas, and make cool new monsters that not only look different, but have different fighting mechanics like the boars and the carbuncles did. Also new areas will have to have new quests. And while yes, quests are just text + reward junk, quests are also one of the few ways we can interact with and get to know the NPCs. They're also one of the few ways to advance the plot, and uncover the Atlyss lore. I really hope Kiseff hires more developers so we don't have to worry so strongly about what is and isn't included in the next update.

@dasnooter8587 So admittedly I was working with something of a preconceived notion when I made this video, and that is I assumed new areas would be sort of a given whenever it comes to An Early Access game of any kind. You are correct in saying that the balance of those new mechanics or weapons or whatever versus the areas we already have would give a sense of skewed priority, but again, the safe assumption is that new areas are going to be added regardless of what we asked for, which is why I didn't feel the need to mention it, that and then also I already brought up the Autumn area in the news section of the video. I don't want to come off mean or anything because I do appreciate your words don't get me wrong. so I'll give you this: I like the idea of enemies behaving differently in Atlyss, after thinking about it for a minute it would seem that the brainless-chaser type of enemy would get real dull if that is all we get for the most part. So yeah, new enemies that have diffrent ai patterns would be sick!

Team management is a heavy burden, and has killed many a project. Kiseff could rightly fear that building that team could bring development to a halt, only to have that team fail to work and leave them right where they started PLUS the extra burden of that failure. That's an easy way to go from slow but steady development to an abandoned unfinished game.

I'm aware Kiseff has mentioned in a Steam discussion post that no new races are going to be added. To be honest, I don't find this as a problem since even the poon race is so flexible it can be made to look like a fox all the way to a deer or goat (or Pseudoregalia's goat deer bunny combination). So I'm kind of glad Kiseff is setting a hard limit for other goals right now. The character bases could be easily expanded upon to make really anything you can think of. 7:50 pretty sure these can be made with imps? I could be wrong.

If you've already cleared the Crescent Grove dungeon, you can go to the first teleport of the Crescent area, and instead of climbing the rope to go to the Temple, you take the other path and now the teleporter to the Well of Stars is active. You can already find empty areas where all of these areas are going to attach to, + 1 Good shop and a teleporter.

I would think the third option around 6:09 could be a specialty class, one that specializes in the weapons your current class can use better, like warrior could have a Lancer specialty and throw spears at folks or Bandit could have a dead-eye specialty and uses their bow to inflict heavy damage from afar, that's what I'm thinking.

There's several key features I latched onto when I started. First was the skill book having a third, unused tab. My personal thoughts were we may not get new base classes, but we might see an extensive 2nd Class Tier. With the introduction of weapons being able to be reforged to scale off different stats, I was able to create a paladin/cleric using Mystic+Vitality&Mind+Mace scaled off mind, restora focus, and Divine, "holy" bell offhand. It was what I am hoping class tier 2 will be. Berserker, Elementalist, Ninja, etc. But if proper 2nd tier classes come, we could see more iteration on base archetypes without needing to deviate from the 3-pillar class archetypes. I, however, would love to see more class and weapon types. Secondly, was the World Teleport having a MASSIVE first page list for so few options now, with what looks to be future pages with a page-over option. Seems like the game won't be tiny. Kis might have plans for such an expansive world, that the $10 entrance fee seems unfair, in our favor. Finally, here's hoping a lot of the armors/weapons/ideas from the original Atlyss when it was still Poon Quest, gets re-iterated and re-added. Also, the lore is a nice draw. We need more lore! As far as races, I think the reason Kis said there wouldnt be more is we have five "bases" he plans to iterate on. Mammals (Poon), Avian (Byrdle), Cetacean/Amphibian (Imp), Reptilian (Kubold), and Marsupial (Chang). But adding more, as always, would be welcomed.

I'd rather updates focus on new areas and progress towards the "final" state, the new area is currently more or less in the game already, cool to see development is focused on that and part and it would be neato to see if a reoccurring trend of sorts is little sneak peeks and content thrown into updates just to like flesh out the world some more and let you know more or less what's to come :) The only reason I'd want more weapons is simply to give each class the variety that Fighter has, even though you can just scale whatever weapon to your preferred attribute I think it's more charming to have a variety for each class, it sits firmly in the later date angle though same as classes because we're already pretty deep into its development and time spent on them could be spent on refining more pressing matters.

@SerenTK2 i just finished crescent grove for the first time 2 days ago, i think i was level 14 or 15 when i entered, worst experience in atlyss by far. i must have died like 20 times, i swore to myself to never do another dungeon again 😭. but i have increased parry and stun window now so its prob easy :p

@@cinnamoncat8950 did you go in by yourself? i highly, highly recommend going to an open server and join a group for grove! way more fun that way as a team when your abilities synergize (plus it makes it way more manageable when getting buffed and healed). good luck ☺

Whether or not the primary antagonist is "Suki" or not, I simply don't know. However, I cannot disagree that there is one. Something happened to make the world break up. A lexicon entry found in the tower in Sanctum speaks of threads holding the parts of the world of Atlyss together. All of those threads breaking up at the same time is too much of a coincidence to swallow. Also, there are the waypoints. Those red crystals that you break to attune/open the waypoint came from somewhere. It seams like part of a systematic plan to stop people from moving around the fractured Atlyss. Think of collapsing subway tunnels to paralyze traffic in and out of New York, for comparison. It seems likely that the attack of the slime diva and the rebellion in the catacombs are just opportunists taking advantage of the situation, but that could be part of the plan, as well. Some mastermind behind the scenes telling them that the breakup was going to happen before plugging the waypoints and severing Angela's connection to the sigils. Also, in the latest update, there's Orcabunnies in Wall of The Stars, too. It's a hub zone past Gate of The Moon, complete with it's own shop (manned by Craig) and it's own waypoint. Finally I wanted to mention that Kissef gives hints on his next updates on his Twitter. (I refuse to call it "X".)

One small change I really want to see is for melee weapons to have more attack animations. I do not like when the animations for attacking with a sword or other melee weapon are just 1-2-1-2 swinging back and forth. That does not feel like proper action combat. Every melee weapon should have a string of at least 3 different attack animations. 3 for slower, heavier weapons and 4 or 5 for the lighter, faster weapons. As for a 4th class, I'd really love to see a hand to hand Monk style martial class with abilities such as deflecting projectiles back at the sender and grappling and throwing enemies. Maybe even give them a passive skill where they can enter a meditative state while idle and recover health. For a new race, I really want something more equine looking and I don't mean like MLP style, I mean something anyone could glance at and say "that's an anthropomorphic horse/donkey/zebra/unicorn." I don't know what would be a good name or racial trait for this race, that would be up to the developer. More verticality in environmental design is a plus, but I want that to extend to the gameplay/combat as well. I want to see airborne enemies and for the combat to have that Kingdom Hearts floaty aspect, where you're spending just as much time in midair as you are on the ground. While I do want more dungeons, I also want more towns and hubs with more NPC's who'll give us quests and sell us items. I'm not fond of the game model of going out on missions and then returning to the same small hub area every time. Give us a larger world to explore.

Honestly - even if Kis solo developing is going to be slow - he made a great game and I want him to be able to follow his vision unimpeeded. Bringing in other devs might change things.

New class? If Boom Boars are anything to go off of, a Musketeer class might be fun, using Cannons and Rifles with more focus on direct fire AOE abilities? Scatter shot, shrapnel bomb, etc? More male/masculine looking armor and outfits would be nice, having male charactersfeel more androgynous kind of sucks, but I dont think its the worst thing to be lacking out there.

That 3rd slot could be an upgrade from the base class you chose, sort of like FFXIV where you can go from Conjurer to White Mage.

This is what I can see happening about alternate classes: •Cannoneer - blow apart foes with deployable sentries and wield two-handed cannons! Think Engineer from Torchlight 2. •Necromancer - summon undead like Carbuncles to fight for you! I am hoping for a return to Torchlight 2 Engineer way more because it was unique, wielding a two-handed splash AoE ranged weapon.

When it comes to new classes... I think that we should get at least two more. There are five races right? There are three advanced classes. So one that represents the Imps and one that represents the Birdels. Like... a curse master who's skills revolve around a lot of Damage over Time and a trickster style class that's like a bandit but revolving around traps to the extreme.

@@Princemouse9 I was also thinking maybe the birds would get a bard class instead? Powerful buffs and but only one direct attack in the form of you basically just taking out your guitar and strumming so hard you damage and knockback enemies. Couple it with a heavy metal string for maximum amusement.

I would like for the dev to have the dungeon have a way you can play a hard mode dungeon basically a dungeon that'll take 30+ or more minutes to beat and scales to your current level doesn't matter which dungeons and to incentivize you in doing so will net you legendary weapons specific to the dungeon they came from and these weapons would not only be strong but like borderlands they have special perks like for example a Flame sword that you know be a sword however swinging it will throw out a fireball in the direction of the character just a little something something

My hope is that they add big expansions akin to the ones from Warcraft,or at least theme new content around that idea. Also kiseff PLLLLLEASE LET PEOPLE WORK WITH YOU I WILL GLADLY HELP YOU :(

@@Princemouse9 It's manageable with SteamInput. I believe there is already even a community preset for ATLYSS you can download so you don't have to manually configure everything yourself if you don't want to.

Yeah, was totally gonna say the same thing! They have access to giant shark tails in the character creator, but no one ever chooses to put tails on their Imp for some reason. Can't imagine why...

​@@dasnooter8587 I guess what I'm asking for is more aquatic centered customization for a race, and I stand by that if we were to have something like that then it would possibly be those npcs in the sanctum, that is assuming we're even gonna get a new race and in the first place, imps do have fish features if you opt to go for the customization there. And considering all of atlyss's races,any race could resemble any one animal or combination of animals as it stands, but ehhh... idk it dosent feel like enough if wanna go full shark or somesuch Tldr: I still wanna fish race lmao

I've checked on the same things that were brought up in the video, and the developer did say there won't be multi-classes, and there won't be any new races or classes - what we have is what we get apparently. As for the aquatic race, those would be the imps, it's even brought up in their race description
