Such a throwback to coming of age in the 90s. New tools, same vibe.

I’m glad it can capture that in some small way. Those sounds are timeless

My grandmother died a year ago yesterday. This mix helps me confront my grief. Thank you, Sudden Language.

I’m sorry to hear this, my sincere condolences to you. I’m grateful I could help in some small way. The grief, and everything that comes with it, is part of the process that makes you even stronger over time. And your experiences will help others over time as well, so I also want to say thank you.

Outstanding! If you put this on Bandcamp I would buy it.

Working on it! I uploaded it as chapters: suddenlanguage.bandcamp.com/album/jungle-box-all-chapters In order to upload a full length mix like this I would have to do over $25 in sales on bandcamp I think, which hasn't happened yet! But hopefully soon. Once I can upload longer tracks and performances, I will upload stems and longer soundscapes, or whatever there is interest in. Thank you for your support, I'm very grateful. I hope the new year is going well for you so far.

Thank you, that helps a lot and very much appreciated. I plan to add a lot more on bandcamp and just in a trial and error stage right now. I’m very grateful for your support!

27:48 Is that a sample from _Upstream Color_ of all things? That’s a deep cut!
@suddenlanguage

Yes! One I need to rewatch soon. And Primer.
@man_in_space
@man_in_space 19 күн бұрын
@ When I subsequently heard the _Primer_ samples I knew it was true. Umbrella Entertainment has some nifty BluRay collector’s editions of the films.
@suddenlanguage
@suddenlanguage 19 күн бұрын
Interesting, I will have to check those out. I didn’t realize umbrella ent was doing that for those films. It’s a shame that it seems like his other movies won’t ever get made, a combination of reasons for that it seems. The modern ocean was looking like a really interesting and big project awhile back. Thank you for those recommendations!

@@suddenlanguage _A Topiary_ did sort-of make it to the big screen-some of the animation demos Kris works on in the beginning of _Upstream Color_ were animatics from it.
@suddenlanguage

Very interesting! I didn’t know that. I’m planning to revisit those two films soon when I have some proper time this year, I know he put the screenplay out there too but I haven’t read it yet.

Ah, the Blackbox, centre piece of my studio. I wonder why all three outputs are connected. Are you sending them through different effects?
@suddenlanguage
@suddenlanguage 19 күн бұрын
It’s a beautiful machine! For this I’m just using the outputs to route different sounds, drums and bass, pads and melodies, and fx and vocals. Something like that, although the fx on all tracks only comes through output 1
