I've never had much luck with making fluid. I would love tips on how to properly use making fluid. I've had it tear the paper slightly as I remove it, pull at the edge of the paint it touches, and generally cause me to spend more time on touch-ups than I'd prefer.

Before you remove your masking tape, use a hairdryer, it softens the glue and prevents it from tearing your watercolour paper. Check out my in-depth video about masking fluid: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmWXppeCgNOEbNk. Hope this was helpful 😊
