Haven't seen someone speak this naturally, smoothly, concisely, clearly, polished in a long long time on KZbin. The photo examples and the B roll were amazing to say the least. The portrait shots are tack sharp as fuck. This is the best implementation of Moment lenses I've seen so far. Great job and great video. Subscribed!

Sold it after a long wait. The bokeh/out of focus areas have horizontal bokeh. Looks really strange. I believe this is due to the sensor orientation on the pixel phones. The flares were a bit too much when I compare to my full-frame anamorphic lens. Some phones it works better on than others. With the pixels and some iPhones nope. Just looks odd.

the main upgrade I used for youtube videos was buying a rode mic with a lightning jack for my iPhone. And I keep it on a mini tripod when filming and it's hits most of my needs. The only issue is that the camera eats up the phones battery when I need it most.

Sounds like a good setup. Now you just need an external battery pack. I also have a mini tripod thats also a battery pack.

I have the anamorphic, and the 18mm wide, now I need the 58mm...LOL The anamorphic is seriously nice for cinematic. being able to turn the lens horizontal or vertical for different flares is nice, and combined with a pretty nice gimbal, really stepped up my cinematic footage. Problem is, ( not a problem for Moment though..) EVERYONE will be shooting on a phone, in anamorphic very soon, now that this is available at a decent price, so anyone doing filming on phones will all have the same look. Its going to become very common place in the near future I think. Before, if you wanted that great anamorphic look to your footage, you did most of your work in post. No doubt about it, between the 18mm, the 58mm, and especially the anamorphoic lenes, Moment will be a must have for everyone doing mobile photography and video...

You mentioned using the Moment app when shooting RAW, and I heard another person mention something about not being able to shoot RAW with this lens. Do you have to use a specific additional app to get a RAW file out of it? Is that just when using particular modes, like Portrait Mode? Thank you!

It would be awesome to capture some auroras or astro (even if the low light quality isnt too good) with the 18mm, if we can manually control our camera settings directly without using a 3rd party app. I used to with my old Galaxy 7 Active but that crapped out on me. Great review as always!

I just sold the new Moment anamorphic lens. Unfortunately, on my Pixel the bokeh or out of focus areas were are strangely horizontal! Like what am I supposed to do with the horizontal oval bokeh? It looks so weird. the good news is after I sold it I could get rid of that bulky moment case and put on a nice slim one. The lens was nice but the phone is rotating the orientation and makes these not work well.

If you use a phone with dual or triple or even quad camera, you need to use a third-party app like Moment's own Pro Camera app to force the other lens working. If you use a phone with single camera like in this vid, you can use the phone's stock camera app.

That's disappointing that spray the lens cleaner on the lens got moisture in the lens. But concerning in wet weather or foggy weather. For the price you would think they could have sealed them up better.

Why buy expensive mobile lenses? Why fiddle with taking them on and off. Just get Mate 20 PRO and you get 16-80mm focal length. No fiddling, no additional costs. No added bulk to device. Simple and effective plus you can switch lens on the fly during recording video! :)
