Hello taylor, great video, I just subscribed. I have watched about a hundred 'MOMENT' videos trying to work out if the Macro lens would be any good for taking photos of jewellery. You pretty much answered that the SANDMARC would be better for that as with jewellery photography you want to get close but not 'microscopically' close. I ended up getting the Moment system as I thought the macro lens is a bit limited in its usefulness. It is sharp and creates beautiful images but you have to be essentially touching the object to get it into focus. Now I want to get the Sandmarc macro just to see if it's any easier to use! Guess I'm just addicted to gadgets. thanks

You should include Sirui’s lenses in this comparison. For $175,- you get a kit with four lenses, a filter, a clip and a carrying case. The lenses are sharp, solidly built and have the same mount as the Moment lenses, so they’ll work flawlessly with any Moment case.

Great video. I love Chicago. The bundle package from Sandmarc seems to make it the winner, at least in pricing. Moment seems to be building a “brand.”

@5:42 doesn't come off like a fair comparison for these two lenses. You can see that the lighting was different for each lens. The moment lens was shot before the sun went completely behind the cloud. This is evident by the hard shadows cast on the walkway by the hand rails. You go on to say that the moment is better because it shows more wood grain, but again, that is because for the Moment lens, the wood grain was in sunlight, and for the Sandmarc, it was in cloud shadow. Edit: Need to add the obvious positive note. Well done and well put together. This has been immensely helpful, and one of the highest quality reviews I've seen. I'm trying to decide if the iPhone 11 pro will cut it for good video, or if I need to buy a proper 4k camera. Thank you!

I got the telephoto lens a while ago from Moment. Not going to lie, this review was the one that helped me make my decision. Also, Moment's amazing videos and marketing is superb. If the main reason to get this was just for photos, I honestly don't think I would purchase these in lieu of just getting a camera but I think they are great for Instagram live for my open mics that are held in a low light setting.

i prefer moment. yes I am a moment fanboy, but I would prefer the quick mounting option with moment, so I can capture a moment better, and faster, than having to screw something in and out. Also the moment mounting system is very secure for a 90º turn.

At 6:57 you say something about the crop correcting itself for video. My Question is what app did you use because the moment app does not crop on my iPhone 6 using cheap clip on fisheye. I actually prefer the outer "rings" effect for video and am wondering if you Can get that effect when using the moment app..Thank You.

Taylor Moore, I haven't played around too much. I got the Movi Freefly and Anamorphic lens just before Christmas. Set up the weights for the XS Max (better video) just after Christmas but will try to use it for New Year's. Just got the 58mm too. Sold the 60mm with my Pixel 2XL. These lenses and cases make today's phones even more amazing.

Akin Oshoko balancing everything up is a bit tricky, but you'll get there. The wide angle is a heavy lens so you'll need the weights. Note 9, pixel 3 XL and XS Max all have their pros and cons in the camera department.

Great Video,Subscribed. I've recently have started to film a lot of home movies and edit them on my MacBook and I've been looking at the Sandmarc Wide angle lens but was aprehensive about spending so much money on a lens that might be a dud. I'll be buying the Sandmarc.

58mm moment tele is my favorite lens. I find myself using it more than the iPhone stock tele.

Cerisette Kotomi you’re definitely right about the depth blur. It looks nice and works okay with portraits of people (not perfect, it’ll blur out hair sometimes) you will start seeing big flaws in it with anything other than people. The 58mm on top of the stock iPhone wide lens did better with people who had facial hair in my opinion since you won’t lose details due to the blurring. The iPhone stock tele would blur out hairs even on top of the head. With the 58mm, you can still get a blurred background(not as blurred like stock tele) and still get all the details of the hairs sticking out. What I do want is an app that allows you to use the 18mm wide lens over stock tele and still be able to get a depth blur that iPhone offers. I have the iPhone XS Max so the only time I use the 58mm over the iPhone tele is when I want a 4x zoom on something farther away. Stock tele is definitely still needed sometimes just because I want the DSLR like blur or there’s lights in the background that “focus” can improve. I think Moment advertised the 58mm photos more with the iPhone XR than iPhone Xs.

Damn, this was a sick review worth a sub. I have a Pixel 3 so it's not really relevant for me seeing as sandmarc is iPhone only; but really engaging content nonetheless. Cheers.
