Any tips on how to get a stuck steam arm brass shaft out? On many of your videos you use the knob to twist it out but mine is stuck fast - i have even warped the brass shaft end trying to twist it out with pliers over a tea towel. Thanks for all your great videos can’t wait to try coffee on my Brevetti Robbiati once it’s fully restored!

Hi - sorry to hear you've got a problem with your Atomic. I'm not 100% sure which part you mean - is it: 1. The whole steam arm assembly that screws into the body of the machine shown at the beginning of this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2OxXqOfob6In68 2. The shaft show at 6.48 in kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2OxXqOfob6In68 Mike in England

@@scottitonline thanks for replying - its the second part, the brass shaft. It wont twist at all no matter how hard I seem to try

@@whitsurf Two different types of metal will often 'meld' them selves together and no amount of brute force will over come the friction. Do you think you could take a photo of your steam arm and email it to m_scott65@hotmail.com and I'll come up with a Plan A, B and C. Mike

How do you remove that fitting to install a new steam arm?

Thanks for this. Useful to have a guide on where each gasket goes. Bon Trading doesn't tell you that there'll be instructions on their website, but now I know!

Hi does anyone have the conversions for Aussie metric
@scottitonline2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment - The metric system in Australia is (to the best of my knowledge) the same as elsewhere in the world. Are you looking for something specific to repair you Atomic? Mike

@@scottitonline hi thanks for the response, yes, so the bit I bought from the atomic - bon trading Sydney- (steam-arm body section) and after I removed the damaged bit I actually can't insert the new section. So I am looking to re thread it but I couldn't find the conversion here in hardware stores.

I contacted bon trading and they said a car mechanic can help re thread. Luckily my brother in law is a mechanic but I'm not sure he can find the appropriate bit

@@nathalierufino9587 Hi there - the bit you need is shown at the end of the video: BSPP 1/4" x 19 - Tap If you type t6hat into ebay.com.au, you should find the bit. Any probs, just let me know - worst case, I can send you one from UK. Mike

thanks for the video! I have this exact problem. The sheared off brass section projects almost 1cm above the body and wasn't fully seated against the gasket. Is it not possible to loosen it rather than bore it out?

I have never had any luck unscrewing the broken fitting once they have snapped. There is no harm in trying a penetrating oil such as Plus gas and seeing if you can get a set of molegrips on the protruding part. Have you ordered a replacement part and seal set from from Bon Trading yet?

Hi! Any idea what size thread the little screws that go in to the filter section at the top are? I need to clean them up?
