Okay this place was used as an airport in ww2 this site is very big. Unfortunately i can't say what on site but if you ever get a job there its very interesting thats all i can't say under the secrets act. Just be mind full mod police are very respected to all members of public that take interest. They only use the guns if you proceed to walk on site and they very swift. Big respect to mod police ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I've seen that MoD police seem far more professional and polite than your average police officer....I've seen numerous interactions (Audits) where MoD cops have just had a normal chat with the public to find out what's going on without any attitude or chip on their shoulder. This is how all police should be....very impressed by MoD cops.

Grew up round that neck of the woods. Loads of good conker trees just outside the fence. Huge site that and I believe its connected to the Burghfield site as well.

@Daniele Mandelli I remember having a tour when I was a kid. We were told there is a train connecting the 2. I assumed it's underground. I also remember the 4 minute warning alarm every Wednesday during the cold War times.

@@SuperLarson777 Ah, yes, this is what I'm after. I've heard rumour of this for years. Back in the 80s there was a question in Parliament about "flooding of the UG Railway" but never anything concrete. I assume such a railway, if it exists, is narrow gauge and carries parts too and from Burghfeld.

@Daniele Mandelli it was also a pretty widespread rumour that each Wednesday when the alarm went off, (You could hear it all around Tadley) all of the important engineers, scientists and so on disappeared to the nuclear bomb proof bunker. It was a very real threat when we were growing up as we'd be one of the first targets. The alarm stopped (from memory) around the same time as the name changed. Dropped research.

So ugly how they ask like oh by the way, "Have you got any ID on you?" because most members of the public would assume that they can lawfully demand to see your ID whenever they want. What their policies should state is that they should ask "You don't have to, but would you like to provide your ID to me?" instead, to avoid UK transforming into a police state.

The absolute priority for the commercial operators of these sites is to protect their commercial interests and maintain the mythology and thus the price!, all that effort on 'security' ensures commercial credibility.
