As a long time Sonata fan and a student of renewable energy and environmental science, this song hits really hard.

As the same as you guys living in Europe and having just traveled to China it hits really badly.

I've loved SA since Winterheart's Guild. And I'm one of those green guys, too. This song really hits home... But why all the repetition? I just can't take it! "We are what we are" 19 times? Really? Even a single repetition of a sentence will make it more powerful (I'm the man who lived...)

I thought the same thing!

@@KingOfShadeEmpire "but we are what we are"* That's true, but it's just the backing vocal... is it better if you remove it? I also like the end of Replica.

Oh I also plan to study environmental science! And yes, this song hits hard.

Sonata Arctica has always been that polarizing band. You either like them or hate them. People who liked their early work dislike their new stuff. And visa versa. Then there are the balanced listeners who like them for who they are. Excellent musicians and songwriters. So they're a little more poppy and less edgy than they once were. Bands evolve. And if you don't like them, that's fine, there's two more new fans to take your place.
@MarkusKulmanen8 жыл бұрын
Completely agree with you on bands evolving. Theyre all human like us, they grow older and values change. Im a fan of the older stuff myself - first metal band ive ever listened to - and i dont like most of this new album, but this song is something else. I love the melody and ofc Tony Kakko singing. I also get the agenda and im all for it being the younger generation.

Robert Brooks i completelg agréé with you. its hard tho to let your "old band " go. Sonata Arctica reminds me of so many good times. feels like that these good old days are really gone when the good old band is not the same either. but we grow up and we must learn to connect these new songs to today, someday's good old days

loved music and metal for 40 years. love all genres of metal - death, doom, thrash etc.... As well as blues classical etc. ... don't limit yourself to a particular style/genre take from music the emotion, passion and how it moves you. Bolt Thrower "moves" me, old school British Thrash and punk "moves" me as does SA. It's all good😊

I walked down from the mountain Failed to find youth from the fountain I summoned the gods of old by a song And then I killed them all When there was a storm I sang louder After I failed I tried harder If I didn't like how the lake reflected me The lake would dry I am a human Disgraceful is humanity I am a human Destroyer of many worlds, not one I can end another animal Deeming they are suffering But this ample mercy’s not for me Man came down from the mountain Blind for the love all around him The last beautiful heartbeat We could save our world, but we are what we are We should love our earth, but we are what we are It takes care of our loved ones But we are what we are You haven’t thought of this, have you? The place we call home, without value If you didn’t like how the songbird greeted thee The bird would die The ship we leave behind us has no anchor Thus your only child will sail too far from the sun We could save our world, but we are what we are We should love our earth, but we are what we are It takes care of our loved ones But we are what we are We could save our world, but we are what we are We should love our earth, but we are what we are And take care of our loved ones But we are what we are We could love our world, but we are what we are We should save our earth, but we are what we are It would save our loved ones But we are what we are But we are what we are But we are what we are But we are what we are But we are what we are But we are what we are But we are what we are But we are what we are But what are we?

@r0ckbass8 жыл бұрын
lol all these audiophiles talking about "the mix" because they saw someone else complaining about it. it's really not that bad, especially when you compare it to all the early albums. they were all later re-mastered for a reason.
@TheRogueDM8 жыл бұрын
Well for me, I haven't just heard about it. The bass is way too high in the mix. There's a lot of muddy elements and it sounds like the panning is displaced. I'm not someone who refuses to listen to it because of these reasons, but these elements in the mix are noticeable to me. Interestingly, I think they've (Toni) made a step-up in the song-writing for this one compared to SGHN, PC etc. so actually I'm more inclined to listen to this SA album on this occasion.
