Atomik Barbwire 2 jumping waves in open water!

Atomik has a tough self-righting boat on their hands! Bashing in big waves didn't phase the Barbwire 2. The hull is extremely well sealed and is perfect for jumping waves where upside-down boats are very common. This boat has a ton of power for it's size.

Do you know the kv of the motor in thisV2 Barbwire, as they have fitted a larger motor than in the original Barbwire that used a 2950kv motor. Just wondering if the stayed with the same KV in the new motor. Thanks.

Hey Gillian. Sorry for the delay. It took a little while for me to get the answer. I'm told that it is a 2950kv motor in the Barbwire V2. Even though the motor is larger, they probably stuck with the same KV to keep RPM the same.

Any problems running on salt water?

I have never run mine in salt water so I can't say from experience but it should be fine. I would make sure and wipe it down and remove any water from the inside of the hull (there shouldn't be much at all). Always store the boat with the hatch off and the driveshaft removed no matter what type of water you run in.

For your 1st boat, would u buy this, or the Stealthwake?

I love the Stealthwake but all things considered, I would buy the Barbwire 2. It's brushless from the factory and comes with a LiPo battery. The self righting feature is excellent also. The Stealthwakes hull shape is better for rough water but if the Barbwire flips over, it rights itself easily.
