At 1500 nits how loud is the fans if it has any? Was literally looking at the 7" last night and has 2200 nits but the fan is pretty loud.

It looks like a nice upgrade. But, on another channel they showed that the monitor suffers from a half second lag. If they fix the lag, then I will consider replacing the Shinobi monitor I have now.

We really need to know what cameras are compatible with the on-screen controls... and what controls are available per camera model. Thinner, and more bezel... the opposite of SmallHD it seems. I'd rather have less bezel and it be thicker.

thick bezels from 10 years ago. why can't we have the same size/weight monitor with a 6 inch panel? Also the hdmi sticking out from the back, might interfere with gimbals. there need to be an angled adapter.

Touch focus and HDMI out are still missing though. I'd be happy to upgrade if this new model would include those features, at least one of them. Will stick with my trusty previous Shinobi model as the added features doesn't justify the upgrade in my opinion. Personally I don't care at all about the thiner design, it's all about features for me. With that said, this new model would be a great monitor for anyone that still doesn't have a Shinobi though. Thanks for the video, good job.

How many stuck green pixels does it ship with? My Ninja came with like three dozen. Then the replacement I had to do several hours of stupid troubleshooting work for before they’d ship, also came with more than a dozen. Like nobody thought to check if the replacement shipped to the guy really concerned about stick pixels also had them or not? Nobody could come up with a way to make sure that we weren’t replacing junk with junk? It’s a Mickey Mouse operation over there at Atomos.

You fail to mention 2 big concerns. The overheating issue, it gets very hot after thirty minutes of operation. You cannot change iris or exposure. While it's recording, the monitor will stop recording or stop camera. Recording, which is a big issue during long, takes. Our return mind, based on these two big concerns.

I love how it looks much thinner but I always hated the bezels and the IO could use a refresh. I love my SmallHDs but also hate them for the price, it's ridiculous and I understand why people opt out of buying them (big diminishing return). Can't wait till someone gives SmallHD a run for their money, Atomos could be it if they wanted to IMO, they just need some better design cues.

Didn't hear Blackmagic in their options. The grudge continues. Edit: Just looked at it's price, and it's way to expensive for an HDMI in only monitor. Had this been about $60-$100 cheaper then perhaps, but seriously $350 for a 5" 1500 nit HDMI in only monitor is a bit much given similar brightness options without camera control exist for roughly $130-$200 less and have both an HDMI in & out.

I wish I could buy Atomos, they have so much potential, but they just don't get it. They should be the obvious alternative to Small HD but they aren't because they just continue to make it clear they understand the market they are serving very well.

Very basic features, no reason to choose this over an off-brand monitor. The camera controls are ok but at that close distance most people would just use the camera buttons to change settings.
