What is the difference between the edge and the regular mavo lf mk2?

You know, people can complain about a company using an “older sensor”, but let’s look at the application. 99.9% on this KZbin channel are having their projects viewed on a phone, tablet, or computer screen. They are not watching their projects on a 40’ screen-not ever. My FX3,FX9, and Burano make terrific images-the BM is better than the F900/ that Star Wars Ep. 2 was shot on and made millions. It’s about content-not sensors. This is a game you will never win or even catch up.

I've been thinking of getting one to pair with the Burano. Paired with an ultrawide, it'll cover most any scenario outside of sports and wildlife. And even then, the crop at 8.6k will give you some extra reach.

it looks like an awesome lens (similar utility to the canon 28-70mm). perhaps Im being greedy. but I wouldn't mind just a bit wider version (like a 24-55mm f2.0)
@robinprobyn19712 күн бұрын
Was the par focal test done with AF On ? That will usually save these zooms. If it's doing that in AF mode , at that price , I would say thats a pretty serious fail for video use.

overpriced. £1500 would be good

I don't think that is the priority on these AF lenses. The well-controlled focus breathing is already a great feat, give that the much bigger RF 28-70 is horrible at it.

Definitely not! But what we do want to do is create a range of useful content in a variety of styles and across a variety of platforms. That way we are useful for people at all levels of the industry.

I have a Sony A7iii and I think the images out of it are still very good. People put too much emphasis on things like megapixels and fast shutter speeds etc. If the image comes out looking good who cares what sensor it is. There are many other factors at play as you said.
@heartshapedfilms3 күн бұрын
Thought it was the s1H sensor might be the same one end of the day who actually cares? When you're talking a out pixel pitch and is this better for this one a scale we cannot perceive with the human eye unless we test it what does it matter? The pyxis is a great camera that can do wonderful things and make great images. Unless you're mounting a potato to it then it should be okay. Even the a73 can do a good job. The mental part of this is they're probably in love with the fx6 with a 2012 12mp sensor. Though maybe it's a new sensor though again who cares.

Does it have pre-record is what I always want to know first.
@arieljgd3 күн бұрын
I understand the original post. I normally look for the best technical aspects in a sensor. Like the rolling shutter, resolution and frame rates. Blackmagic gives us the benefit of shooting raw, but is hard to compete with cameras like the a7sIII that can get faster frame rates, autofocus and sony finally allowing 10 bit and external raw. When BM get continuous af and a faster sensor, the internal raw would be a bigger factor to a wider range of customers to choose their cameras.

thanks for replying to my comment! i have never owned cinema lenses (i come from photography) so i find the rationale for how lens manufactorers decide which focal lengths to include in a set and steps between them interesting, but i do agree that if i came down to carrying a single lens i'd probably chose a 40 as well

Got my first BM 6k exactly 5 years ago and it traveled with me around the world. Studio shots, live concerts, interviews,... you name it. It nailed everything! And now: this one is on my wishlist and hopefully mine in the next few weeks. I love how BM simply does everything a one man-crew (like me) want. First of all the OS is amazing. Especially when you're on a job and quickly need adjustments, it goes quick AND it's very very easy. The internal storage (hallelujah!), finally decent outputs like SDI, full XLR,... ND, and what about the 12k resolution, man! I mainly shoot product videos and it really helps that you can get different shots from one take. Really looking forward to see the EVF in action, incl. baseplate and ROD system,... This is gonna be fun fun fun

Not a complaint, but i do find it funny they include a 40mm Is there ever a reason anyone would go far that over a 35 for a few more inches of reach?
@andreasbuder441723 сағат бұрын
You could ask the very same question for 24 vs 28mm. Some people use the middle focal length between two focal lengths as a substitute for both, i.e. a 40mm instead of 35mm and 50mm or a 28mm instead of 24mm and 35mm. For me, it is not about reach but about the look of that particular field of view.
