The C70 is too good a camera to sell and buy the C80. The problem is not in the camera. But in the professionalism of the operator. Not a single viewer has ever asked what camera the film was shot on. The C70 can do a lot. If the C80 had an eyecup (viewfinder), then perhaps it would be worth thinking about. But in terms of the picture, these cameras are very close, and you can’t say that the picture is worse in the C70 - it may be a little different. The C80 has a big advantage - 12G SDI output. I really miss 12G SDI in my C70. However, the HDMI port is also good when used correctly.

I hope Sony adds vehicle AF, I shoot Aircraft, and the Panny I currently sucks in low contrast. I have my eye on this Camcorder!

Still looks like garbage. There is no point with these camcorders any more except the zoom range, but at the cost of image quality cut in half. Who is using these? For what?

The C70 looks like it holds on to more colour information when its pushed. That's something I really like about the C70s sensor, the colours are really well saturated and clean. Also don't forget with the speedbooster attached to the C70, it exposes 1 stop brighter than the ISO would suggest, so if you have the speedbooster you're probably only loosing out 1 stop of clean ISO performance to the C80. I actually like the soft look of the C70 too... it makes me look less ugly :), so I'm hanging on to my 2 C70s. Still really great cameras.

I’m not gonna lie. It’s hard to know what the right SD card type is for what you’re trying to shoot. Will each of the recording options require a v90 card? Could one record to an external recorder via hdmi and have a backup recording to SD card?

I have a question about this camera. Is it really good in low-light situations? And how is the zoom on it? Is this a good option for venues like a church? Or is there a better camcorder in 2024 for church use?

I have had a GH5 for awhile now and have loved this camera. Sold my Canon 5d Mark II & III to change systems and have never looked back. One of the few things I always hated was the auto focus, fixed! Sure not as good a Bokeh as the full frame however almost half the weight on equivalent lenses, makes a big difference when your holding a camera and gimbal for hours. And then there is the travel aspect of size and weight with m4/3 cameras. This is on my next to buy list. I have watched several review but this one was really good, simply and succinct and went over all the best features. Great job!
