Unstoppable Scissor Sweep - Andre Galvao

Absolutely the best explanation out there on the scissor sweep. I started BJJ 8 months ago and my first class was the scissor sweep. I’ve been trying to find the details to make this work in my rolls and this had the pieces I needed. Landed it twice last night on two separate partners. Good stuff!

I learned the scissor and reverse scissor sweeps years ago as a white belt and sort of moved away from these techniques. Recently, i was getting swept from the instant guard pull into standing scissor sweep sequence you showed near the end. Thank you from breaking down the techniques, common counter, and responses to those counter in so much detail. These chains happen so quickly in live roles, but when one recognizes the patterns, the outcomes make much more sense! Thank you Atos and Galvao for your contributions to the art of Jiu Jitsu

Ok so a white belt I was just shown this move the knees together way thought it was bullshit(I'm 220 train with guys my size or bigger that keep a wide base)so I kind of brought my leg up higher was told it could pull a muscle in my hip thanks for the tip seems like it's better for me personally you're the man thanks for helping

My favourite sweep in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Learnt this in my first class and it made me fall in love with BJJ. Very practical in a real fight to.
