I don't own this!!!!!!
The is my second favorite from Animated Tales of the World.
It supose to be the story of Persephone and her marriage to Hades.
And how when she goes to be with hades the wind will blow,
and her mother will cover the earth in snow.
On a side note I realized something. Persephone is the daughter of Dimeter and Zeus, who are brother and sister. And Persephone is married to Zeus's younger brother Hades. So just to be clear, young, somewhat teenage Perphone is the daughter of an Incest marriage and is married to her Uncle. Just so we all wonder.
Also if you wondering what happen to the magic paint brush, that I had on here for 2 years without any problems, some dickhead who will remain nameless, since I don't know who they are and what this copyright was for, I had to take the Magic paint Brush off. I try to put it on tube watcher. www.tubewatcher...

Finally a version about Hades that doesn't make him a complete villain and still has a dark attitude (except when he is with Persephone of course ;) ). Love it XD.

Very true and it's all bc of portrayal. With Hades being god of the underworld he was always associated with Death and that's not a good subject to be associated with , if you want to be shown in a good light. Furthermore he only became god of the underworld by chance when he drew straws with his younger brothers Zeus and Poseidon about which domains they would rule and be in charge of after they defeated the Titans. However he was very fair in his rule of the underworld and was always faithful to Persephone and that was something that neither Poseidon or Zeus could say

It's a shame that there's very few versions of Hades where he's portrayed like this, most of the time he's nothing more than the Greek version of the devil, and that this version of how these two met, one of many, is just the one that keeps getting repeated.

I get very upset how Demeter thinks Hades tricked her. She was asked with a choice to eat a seed. She made the choice to keep eating more. No one forced her to eat more seeds. And I love how Persephone sends a flower to the Underworld and I love Hades face as he snuggles saying her name at how in love he is with her coming.

He was waiting by that phone... I mean river, too. What's interesting is that Demeter is wandering off by herself at the end because Persephone actually Wants to go with Hades and she refuses to see that they want to be together. It's almost as if Hades is a Lot more understanding and in tune with Persephone than Demeter is. Hmm...

+marypoppinamolly true but with gods this didn't really matter much, plus Persephone was the offspring of brother and sister(Zeus and Demeter) and overall Hades was always loyal to Persephone where as Zeus had hundreds of affairs and children even with some of his own grandchildren. Personally I like this story bc it gives a story of who Hades really is bc there aren't a lot of stories with him or ones that show him for who he really is bc he was the god of the underworld and associated with death so since death is is such a scary topic it usually shed Hades as a scary character or in a negative light, even though he became king of the underworld by chance when him and his 2 younger brothers, Poseidon and Zeus, drew straws to see what kingdoms they would rule.

Gabriel Aubry they toned down the story for little kids, hence why more gods and goddesses are missing. They told a simplified version of the story, and they also didn’t put in the the facts that Demeter, Hades, Zeus, Persephone, and Hermes were all related, kids wouldn’t have been able to understand it, so a lot of the finer details were watered down.

It's nice to see him as not a blue, cartoon, flaming-face...thing, like in Hercules. But I also did notice that when Hades first walks in to greet Persephone, his face was like a rat/mouse. What is the story behind that? Is there? Or was that meant to add to the uncanny/creep factor of the Underworld?

Never heard a myth that connected him to a mouse before so it may have been "artistic license". I have heard that he had two forms but not specifically what they were. One assumes it was one for the living (above ground) another for the dead. (She also is said to have 2 forms, why she changes so drastically from the embodiment of Spring to "Queen of the Dead"). Although one supposed he could take on the form of anything that lived or burrowed underground, I have heard him associated to a snake in the portion of the myth that speaks of Demeter denying prophecy & hiding Persephone in a cave guarded by dragons. Since caves are the entrances of the Underworld Hades ironically has access to her which may or may not be when Zagreus is conceived. Oral tradition is not clear wether Hades or Zeus is the father but since whichever god it was, was in an altered form it could be either ( taking some animal form to be seductive is Zeus's calling card but he was not the only god who did it & some would prefer to believe the offspring is Hades's) which makes sense since his god-powers are associated to the Underworld
@eleanorwilliams769

Willow RavenWing well, according to myth, during the titan wars, the gods had hidden in plain site in the forms of animals, Zeus as an eagle, Hera either a cuckoo bird or a peahen, Not to sure what Poseidon, Hermes, and Heista were, Athena was an owl, Artemis was a 🦌, Ares was a ram, I think Demeter was either a crane, a pelican, or a goat, Aphrodite was a swan, Hephaestus I think was a boar, an ox, or some sort of unfortunate looking animal, and Hades, I suppose was a rat. They all took forms that suited them and their personalities at that specific time to keep them safe while they all met in secret to come up with a plan to get rid of the titans permanently. You can find rodents in tombs, mausoleums, even crypts and catacombs, most commonly bats mice rats and sometimes an occasional opossum. I am not sure about the details but that’s just a rough idea of what they could have done.

I noticed. You're not alone. If you may have noticed, Zeus is a HUMUNGOUS BIGAMIST!!! Like Hades said, he changes lovers like others change tunics. Well, it kind of makes you think of quite a few guys these days, because those kind of guys change lovers like people change their clothes. Here's what I think about it. BLECH!!! Those kind of guys make wretch. (sticks tongue out and points index finger at it)

Holy Shit! I haven’t seen this in years! I remember I was like 4 or 5 . The only thing I remembered was the song at the ending. I also remember this same channel had a short featuring some dude killing a dragon and bringing its head to the king and the head talking. I want to say it was about Saint George and the Dragon. Does anyone have any idea what I’m talking about?

Well, I can honestly say this. I am siding with Hades on this; Zeus does, indeed, change lovers like people change clothes. I know he said tunics, but that does somehow remind me of certain men, who are down right male chauvinists. Especially these days. I HATE, LOATHE, and DESPISE men like that. BLECH!!! (sticks out tongue, and points forefinger at it) Sorry. It's just guys like that to me are NAUSEATING!!!

oH. WAIT A SEC. Hades is Zeus' brother, which means Persephone marries her uncle!! I mean, it's definitely not the worst arrangement considering this is Greek mythology, in which siblings and animal+human pairs are about as likely to be featured as anything else, but, as someone who saw this episode as a kid and grew up loving every incarnation of the story, I'm surprised I never realized that!

Lea Amedodzi No, that's pretty much one of the major themes of Greek mythology. Some of the gods may get involved in some pretty weird stuff, but Zeus doesn't care if you're his sister or a swan - he'll have sex with you.

Actually there is another version of this myth which explains that Persephone was the daughter of Prometheus and Demeter who rebelled against Zeus. Prometheus disagreed with Zeus abandoning mankind to live in darknesses. So he was cast out of Olympus bringing down fire, Demeter bringing agriculture and food. Together they gave birth to Persephone. The humans worshiped Prometheus which provoked Zeus’ jealousy so he punished him and took his widow, Demeter to be his concubine as a trophy.

Well, firstly Gaia (the earth) wed with Uranus (the sky) and produced several groups of children including the Titans, who were the only pretty ones. Chronos (the strongest of the Titans) married his sister (another Titan) who's name escapes me at the moment. They produced Hades, Posiedon, Zues, Hestas, Dimeter, and Hera. Side note, this lies about Demeter being married to Zues. He actually married their sister Hera. Zues just was extremely and constantly unfaithful.
