I entered the program with my private PAR written and it’s been a huge help on getting me ahead of the program! Good luck on your training :)

How long did it take you to study for it? Also do the SIM hours count?

⁠@@nats5544took me about a month to do it but I took my time doing a lesson a day. You can get it done much faster. And I believe you accrue 50 hours or so sim time from the program that you can use

Not too hard. The biggest obstacle is being able to secure the loan

Tuition covers the training(7/8 months). You can decide to become an instructor for them to build hours while getting paid. That’s where the additional year would come into play

You can it’s possible. Just know it’s gonna be super hard trying to balance life. The program is so fast paced you will need time to study and it can become overwhelming

what is the whole admissions process like? i just finished my first year of college but i decided i want to pursue aviation as a career and not waste time getting a degree i probably would never use. i’m worried that atp won’t accept me? just the idea 😭

It was really easy to be honest! Hardest part was getting the loan and preparing for school

So far it’s been mostly reading and exams. But the hands on starts to ramp up pretty fast with simulators and flights

ATP has a 141 program affiliated with a university. Every other location is part 61. Part 141 refers to approved program that operates as a university/college their requirements for licensing are different from 61. Congrats on your start I just finished ATP last week trained at KCRG.

i’m graduating next year from hs. thinking about going to atp dt beach location. have you heard anything about that location ? also have you enjoyed it. a ton of people hate on atp. just wondering what your opinion is

I’ve heard good things about fr beach. Personally I’ve loved ATP so I would recommend it but I ended up dropping out and joining a different flight school for $40k less. Huge difference for all the same certifications. Also much less strict

Most companies will not start you off at 6 figures. Please do your homework and make sure that you get your expectations met.

You are correct, I meant to say the higher airlines and to add that it can take a few years to get there. It’s definitely a possibility though! Aviation is a very rewarding industry
